Under appreciated for now. Will get his due later. Great player and more significant that we realized.

I wish he’d have stayed for a senior year. He’d have left top scorer (accumulated) and rebounder in history and that would have netted him more post basketball playing days money.

I always felt like if Patterson had committed earlier, Tubby wouldn't have gone to Minnesota. Draymond Green was committed to UK when Tubby left. We had a real good shot at getting 7-footer Kenny Frease in that class, and he went on to have a good career at Xavier.

Tubby's recruiting seemed to go in cycles. We all know he was checked out on it late in his tenure but he seemed to be on another upswing at the end.

Wall gets a lot of credit for bringing UK back to prominence but without Patterson the brand might have been damaged to a point where Wall doesn’t even give us a look. Patrick was a critical critical bridge piece beyond being a great player.
