John L would do two things. He would walk into a bar and challenge, "I can whip any man in the house!" And ask, "What is the record for the most shots anyone has drank and been able to walk out of the place?"Rocky Marciano and John L Sullivan had an epic battle
🙄 Old school? 🙄
I knew Hagler vs Hearns was only a few rounds ao I went and looked because I hadn't thought about it in a long time. The best 3 rounds in boxing history IMO. It was like something out of a movie where the viewer says to himself, " no way boxing is like this". Yes, that fight WAS like that. I remember watching it with friends and we were all going crazy. Do yourself a solid and go youtube it if you haven't seen it or just want to relive it. This thread's got me looking up some old fights now.Arturo Gatti and Mickey Ward had some slugfests.
Marvin Hagler and Thomas Hearns had a few as well. The older days of boxing was must see tv. I haven't watched boxing in quite a few years now that I can't tell you who is good now.

According to my barber, Joe Louis came out of retirement to fight Marciano. The man was 76 years old.Rocky Marciano and John L Sullivan had an epic battle
Gatti/Ward didn’t feature an all-time great fighter, but, based on pure action & drama, the first two fights were as good as it gets. The first two Bowe/Holyfield fights were also insane. And, Diego Corrales/Jose Luis Castillo 1 was one of the best fights I’ve ever seen, too. Corrales down twice in the 10th & all but done. Gets up & KOs Castillo in the 2nd half of the 10th. Just an amazing fight.Arturo Gatti and Mickey Ward had some slugfests.

Yeah, but he is up 1 on all those others in terms of killing someone on live TV.Mancini was a bum compared to those mentioned
Ever hear of Ezzard Charles, aka The Cincinnati Cobra? He was a little known heavyweight champion. He killed a man in the ring and was never the same afterward. He kept fighting, but just didn't have it in him to press the attack when he had someone hurt.Yeah, but he is up 1 on all those others in terms of killing someone on live TV.
If you sat me down and said pick one fight to watch I am picking this one.
