Official Steph Curry is GOAT thread

Whoever designed Houstons Court needs to be fired. Idk how you can even play on that..
That court, along with every other Emirates Cup/In-season Tournament courts are an abomination. Additionally, no court should EVER EVER be fully red.

Refs help Houston win this one, and Curry is still playing injured.

Lol, sure seems to me that GSW was able to get away with their usual BS, and then it didn't work down the stretch. This IS a home game for Houston, FYI.. Golden State isn't supposed to be given calls on the road.

And Curry missed a pretty wide-open 3 to ice the game, but he couldn't hit. I know you won't believe this, but for the greatest 3pt shooter ever, he is wildly un-clutch in the final seconds.

Warriors get a lot better by sending Melton + 3 SRPs to the Nets for Schoeder and a SRP. Steph is finally getting the help he deserves. I expect Steph's percentages to jump.

He had tons of help in the 2015-19 years, but he hasn't had much since. Kuminga has been a real disappointment. Green is still ok, but is aging, Klay had two major injuries, and they have no capable backup PG. Until now.

One of the few things we will agree on. GSW fleeced the Nets, who are clearly not trying to win meaningless games.

It does seem that Golden State has had some tough time drafting though.. Kuminga and Wiseman just haven't panned out. Klay is gone, and Draymond is getting old. Poole was shipped out. GSW isn't going to win anything the way they are built now.

All that said, Steph Curry has STILL had more help than almost any other top10 player, outside of a guy like Lebron (who has been hand picking his teams). Hard for me to feel bad that for the last few years, Steph had to carry the load on his own. Plenty of stars have to do that for large chunks of their careers. This is the first time in Stephs entire NBA career that he doesn't have the absolute best team around him.

I mean it happens; they're trying to break in a new player, and Steph is playing injured. Plus carrying team USA in the Olympics has taken a toll. But he's pacing himself, and will be ready to make another championship run.

No, that doesn't happen to GOATs in their prime. Guys like Lebron and Jordan didn't get thrown off by a new player so badly that they literally couldn't have an impact on the game.

This really just goes to show you that Steph is just a little too one-dimensional than what the real GOATS are. I'm not saying he can't have great assist games or score some long rebounds, but far too much of his game is predicated on shooting 2/3rds of his FGs as 3's.

Heck I think one year LeBron traded 5 players on the cavs and got 5 new ones and it didn’t cause him to have this kind of game.

So each time Steph has a bad game, he RESPONDS. How about that 11-0 run in 90 seconds in the clutch? Poor guy has to bail his team out again. BTW - the T-Wolves are so much worse without KAT.

Just curious where you stand now in this whole GOAT debate now that it's been a few years.

I didn't realize this was from 2015. So you'd be excused for *maybe* thinking he's the GOAT after their 1st title (but that's still such a knee jerk reaction). But I don't think anyone will take someone seriously who thinks Steph is anywhere near the same level that Jordan and LeBron are, titles or not. Steph was supposed to surpass LeBron because of their age, but that literally never happened at any time. LeBron has been at least on the same level, won a title a few years ago, keeping the poorly run/coached Lakers fairly competitive. Which is basically what Steph is doing.. keeping Golden State somewhat competitive.. although they can win without him and they are much better coached and managed.
