Official Steph Curry is GOAT thread

Most clutch player.. as a 10 seed lolol.

Honestly if I was Curry or GSW fans, I'd be embarrassed. This is like the teacher handing out top3 meals and then being like "Here you go Stephanie, your 8th place medal we made especially for you!"

Go make momorSubway commercials where you deepen your voice so you dont sound like a gated community rich kid. That one always cracked me up.. never seen someone try so hard to BE hard.

Lebron with a cool 30/5/4 as an aging 40 year old vet to beat the defending world champs - not bad for a 7 seed.

Are we going to ignore what AD did? Because Steph does not have an AD to gobble up 20+ rebounds. Jokic played like trash and got like 33-12-12, so judging by your standards, Lebron has better help than Jokic or Steph.

Joker won his 3rd MVP last night (already one more than Curry's career total). Curry received zero votes this year.

So he wins yet *another* award? What else is new? Jokic wins because he has a great team around him.

Oh that is RICH coming from Curry fan. I don't ever want to hear you talk about a player winning because of a great team around him. Golden state fans are removed from that argument the second you got a ring-chasing Durant on a discount. Not to mention they already had a super team with Klay, Dray, Iggy, Livingston, etc. The latter was a highly touted recruit who famously ripped his knee apart and spent years coming back from that, to finally be a very-cheap-but-very-talented bench piece. Shaun Livingston was on his way to being more of franchise player. And Golden State got to have him for pennies on the dollar.

They lucked out with the way their contracts landed. Steph, Klay, and Dray all seemed to sign decent deals, right before blowing up. I always thought about what Golden states salary SHOULD be, and I'd make the argument they were 10s of millions over the salary cap, for the talent they had.

Also DOES Jokic have that good of a team around him? His 2nd best guy has yet to win any awards or all-teams of note. Murray can get you a 40pt game and he can also get frustrated and wilt (see game 2). Michael Porter Jr is a nice piece but he's battled back injuries his whole career... and... who else? Denver has little bench.

Luka at 25 years old is willing his team to an nba title with a cool 32/10/13 on the road with his second best player past his prime and third best player was a trade deadline move. Not to mention the game winning 3 with 3 seconds left on the road when everyone in the arena knows you’re taking the shot.

KAT was garbage in that series, and the Wolves should have been up 3-1 going into Game Five in Minny. Curry would have hit that dagger too.

"And here comes Curry, gold medal winner from the 2024 olympics.. he dances around the 3pt line.. still dancing.. het gets the ball shoots AND SCORES ANOTHER 3! Lakers still up by 20.."

Last week all I heard was this team could beat the 92 dream team and this terrible post I quoted here yet here we are squeezing out a 1 point win over South Sudan!

Didn’t check the box score to see what chef curry did but Durant put up 21 with ease and Lebron nearly had a triple double.

His biggest contribution so far these Olympics was making unnecessary political commentary and hurting himself in game 1.

Endorsing Kamala is kind of ironic: they both act black but are anything but. (Yes I know Curry is African American but I swear you'd never know it. Dude is more of a wankster than I was at 18).

Curry carries Team USA past Serbia. 36 points, including 17 in the first five minutes. Simply amazing

Really? You mean, 6-8 FGs, and 5-7 3 PT is what kept them in the game.

Now do the FULL box score. He accounted for WAY more FGA than any one player should. And no surprise, that's why we were losing most of the game.

Are you serious?!?!? Your hate for Steph has blinded you. He had 19 FGA on 63% shooting, and shot 64% from three on 14 3P FGA. USA was losing because Serbia was hitting everything and the US was sleepwalking through the first three quarters. His eFG% was 87%.

So he's exempt from playing defense?

None of this matters honestly. He can shoot 100% on an all star team that's feeding him the ball for all I care.

The Warriors aren't winning anything unless he adds all that USA talent to his team. They will be a 6 seed at best and get bounced in the 1st round. His career is just about over, as is this entire thread.

^^^Exactly

The sad thing is as soon as I saw the alert at work and it said Steph had 36 I knew the guy was going to bump this thread.

When it matters, Curry steals the show again. 17-27 from three in the final two rounds! That dagger was amazing. 22-47 from the three, and 30-61 overall in the Olympics. Look for more of this in the 2024-25 season.

Golden State has a better record WITHOUT Curry playing, than WITH Curry playing, to start the year (2-1 vs 3-0). They are undefeated without him. Awfully similar to a few years ago when he was injured half the season and his team still finished near .500.

Carry on.

Wow, three games. It helps when Buddy Hield is shooting like 70% in those games. The only team they've played with a pulse are the Clippers, and they only lost BECAUSE Steph was hurt in the third.

LOL journeyman Buddy Hield is filling in just fine, is not something that happens if you're the GOAT, or anywhere near it. No one could fill Peyton Manning's or Lebron Jame's shoes. When those players went out, they went from title contenders to among the worst teams in the league.

When Steph gets injured, they hardly miss a beat. Which, and this will be a hot take for others here, also applied to Tom Brady. For as great as these players may be, they were apart of systems that were more or less bigger than they were. And when they got injured their teams still finished at or above .500. Golden State doesn't need Curry to make the playoffs, where as Houston DID need James Harden. And when he left Houston? Rockets became THE WORST team in the NBA over a 3 year stretch. Dead last in wins. Because Harden WAS their team. (I'm not advocating for him to be any sort of GOAT)
