I just signed up to be a monthly contributor. If there are not enough contributors to make it work, I will cancel my monthly payments. I am hoping that enough people sign up.
This post just proved what i posted previously.I signed up a while back. And will do so for a year.
If 1 player opts out of a bowl game next year, I am out forever. NFL paid players don’t opt out of the playoffs, neither should paid college players.
I'd rather have them be pros instead of amateurs and have all the same rules the pros have including a draft, free agency etc. Then they have to earn it or get fired.Whether it's the NCAA or some other governing body, NIL isn't going anywhere
Some of y'all are number & math illiterate, so let me help with the calculations Brady is giving
UK collective needs $3 or 4 mil annually
Collective needs 15000 fans contributions
So if 15k fans gave $200/yr or $17/month = $3M
$267/yr or $22/mo = $4M
Grumpy your signing players to bonus $ of $1.8 million. IWe are trying to build a competitive team with what we do have. We need $ 1.5 million to field a team similar to what we have now. That's half what the vols gave for a QB, what about the other 84 players, they coming for free? ATM reportly spent 30m on their 22 class. If you going to play in that pool, you going to need 8 times your number. Miami was paying a QB 9m and he flipped to Florida. It's an auction house and you have to be concerned with panhandling 300 bucks a year from fans who sacrifice to attend 1 game you are in the wrong auction house.
You just equated NIL with taxes. Thank you for making my point.
No offense, but that sounds like an excuse. You know as well as I do that there will be future players who opt out. Basically you are saying this time next year you will withdraw. Also NIL is payment for name, image, and likeness. NIL contracts cannot be structured to prevent a player from opting out.My withdrawal will not be knee jerk. The players want to be paid professionals, then act like it. If they “opt out” I will forego any future donations.
They should be structured that way is the problem. They are getting paid to play, just like the pros. There needs to be a contractual obligation. No offense, but that sounds like an excuse. Sorta reminds you of going to a business and they ask you at the checkout to pay extra for the charity that business is actually supporting...I agree we need every penny we can get. That said....it's embarrassing the ad expects average fans to fund nil while he does nothing to court big boosters.
There is no contract especially between players and collectives. They should be structured that way is the problem. They are getting paid to play, just like the pros. There needs to be a contractual obligation.
Have an NFL guy tell his 2-14 team that he is sitting out the last game of the season to work on his free agency and tell me how many teams want to sign him..
I mean what do you think pro sports are ?I work for a living. Ridiculous they expect average blue collar fans to subsidize what amounts to payroll. Eff that.
An organization whose sole purpose is to make a profit. The players are not part of anything other than the team.I mean what do you think pro sports are ?
