National Championship Open Thread

I’m going based off what you said. The SEC is two teams winning it, and yes you have to find other ways of having satisfying season besides championships. But acting like TCU didn’t belong in the game is crazy
Clearly evident TCU did not belong in this game. What did KSU do in their bowl game? When the 12 team playoff starts I bet the final 4 will include 2 SEC teams almost every year. And there is a good chance expansion may kill the playoffs if 2 SEC teams play in the Championship very often.

The SEC since 2012 has been Alabama, Georgia, then LSU every 5-6 years. The SEC is good, but people just want to discredit TCU, they got the shit beat of them tonight, they stilll earned the right to be in the game
Unlikely this type of beat down occurs in the championship game when there’s a 12 team playoff. Doubtful that TCU makes it to the final game in that format.

TCU beat who they were suppose to, they beat a good Michigan game, Georgia is bad matchup for everybody

Bad matchup? Is that what you call that? If not for 1 blown coverage they would have been shut out.
That’s what a bad matchup means, TCU had no advantages on the field, and played a team that was clearly better than them

I didn’t watch a second of tonight’s game because I knew it would be a bloodbath. I just want to thank Michigan and the committee for wasting everyone’s time. With the seeding allowing TCU to be the three seed, we get a championship that looks like the Super Bowls of the late 80s.

Ohio State has to be crushed knowing they’re one play away from a national title. 😂 Ouch.

Shit makes no sense though

Michigan stomps 0SU
TCU barely beats Michigan
Ohio State loses by one despite leading GA most of the game
TCU gets demolished by Georgia
Whoa now.. right after the selection show you were attacking me for saying Alabama was way better than TCU and you said the SEC was overrated. Most of us expected this but you weren’t one of them.

This was the largest margin of victory in a bowl game in college football history!

Absolutely amazing stat

Doesn’t matter that they beat UM. I’m not arguing that they didn’t earn it, last week, after the fact. Point is, they should’ve been the 4 based on the regular season. This game should’ve happened last week.
Why should Ohio st been ranked over them? They got ran off there own field by Michigan. TCU made the conference championship game

" As long as you don't have entitlement in your Program you got a shot" That is a great quote from Kirby

TCU would beat Mizzou, and that Mizzou game for Georgia was 100 percent UGA overlooking them
I agree with you they would and based on performance TCU should have been in playoff. But this year Bama, TN before injury to QB, GA. we're all better than TCU and Michigan in my opinion. And yes Michigan deserved to be in playoff based on metrics.

Tennessee offensively yes?, TCU vs Tennessee would have been exactly like the TCU vs Michigan game. Bama might be better but they blew their chances in the regular season

Oklahoma Steve Davis 1974-75
Nebraska Tommie Frazier 1994-95
Southern Cal Matt Leinart 2003-2004
Alabama A.J. McCarron 2011-2012
Stetson Bennett 2022-23

Lol Georgia is not reflective of the SEC, dude. Why do people like you fail to see this? It’s a top heavy conference. Every year there’s one to two premier SEC teams, a pretty good one and then just decent mediocre. This year was no different.

And no, Bama did not deserve to be in the playoff. Their best win of the season? K-State. 😂

Two questions:
1. Is Brock Bowers the best football player in America? Can't nobody stop that guy. Realistically, he starts for how many NFL teams today - not the Chiefs, not the 49ers. But damn nearly all the rest. He's awesome.
2. What kind of stats would Levis have if he got all day to throw to really good WRs and pro-ready TEs like Bennett enjoys? Sb4 is good and makes a lot of good throws, high IQ player. But, man, he's got a lot of time almost every passing play to find someone open. Even a mediocre QB (which SB4 is NOT and is much better than most give him credit for) would do well with the time to throw Bennett receives. Bennett football IQ >> Levis, though, and that makes a lot of difference at the QB position.

SEC is no different than any other Conference. Each Conference each year has 2 or 3 good teams, 4 or 5 average teams and 4 or 5 below average teams. Difference is SEC would beat other Conference teams in each of the 3 categories consistently.

Yes.

For some reason I got the 2 players background confused.

He's still an unbelievable TE.

And Bennet is one of the best QB's to play in college football winning 2 titles in a row!!! Have to think that some NFL team would give him a shot.

Must have gotten their looks confused too. Bowers looks twice the size of any defender near him.
