Indiana head coach Mike Woodson is contemplating stepping down and retiring per Goodman

Not comparing 2004 vs 2022. We haven't seriously competed since 2019 as on other poster mentioned
Right but you dismissed the 2022 team that beat national champs in a blowout in Lawrence, destroyed UNC, had the NPOY, one of the best offenses under Cal until they started getting decimated with injuries, finished the season as a 2 seed and selectively decided they weren’t a contending team to make your point. Then, using that same thought process you had to state that Saint Peters was a contending team. That’s the point. I get Cal isn’t beloved but we don’t have to be dishonest about what happened

We were in a position to compete in 2022 but at the end of the day we did not. We didn't win even 1 game.
Tell you what Ill do a poll thread asking if we have competed for an NCAA title since 2019 and see how it goes.

Oh I think we both know how it will go. The gauge fans are using right now is “Cal bad” and that’s as far as it goes. It’s why every time someone talks about our recent tournament record they say one tournament win in 5 years, which includes a Covid canceled postseason to make it sound even worse. It was time to move from Cal but that kind of stuff is just simply dishonest.

We don't know how it will go and there has been nothing dishonest about our discussion

Not this time. Pretty sure it will be him, Beard, or May. I'll be happy with any of them but of course want Brad. New ownership of the Celtics and his contract ends in June. If he was staying wouldn't it already be renewed?
lol. This is an exact variation of what we heard before the last two hirings — that turned out to be a mid-major flop and a guy old enough for Medicare who’d never coached college hoops before.

Expect more of the same. Programs don’t fail for 30 straight years by accident.

It wouldn’t surprise me. But he gave up coaching the Celtics saying he didn’t want to coach anymore.

Besides, isn’t he “too nice”?😊
I thought he just wanted to be home more because of his kids. Plus Boston had to hire a black coach because some weird reason. One of those billionaire religion things.

As an IU fan you make a good point, but seeing BBN drool over Billy D in what has seemed like forever. Don't get all your eggs in one basket for Brad. He will break your heart again.

According to Matt Jones he would have likely been the UK coach but Auburn wouldn't let UK contact him.
Matt has always said that the UK brass (president and BOT) would not let Mitch reach out to Pearl based on his past. Not that Auburn wouldn’t let UK talk to him.
