That little wobble on the next to last lap kept him from the win.Great battle by Larson holding off Bell for a photo finish.
I would like to see Larson win another one but Blaney is strong right now. As a side note I think he is the one driver not named Chase or Bubba that NASCAR pushes the most and like Bubba hasn't really done anything to deserve the push he gets to this point.Championship 4 Blaney, Bell, Larson & Byron.
Same here, would like to see Larson give the sport another multi-time champion with his 2nd. Good with Byron next. Would also put Suarez in the same boat as someone pushed out there as if he is much better than he really is. Had prime rides with JGR #19, SHR when they were rolling and given a lifeline with Trackhouse Racing after a year with Gaunt Brothers Racing. 1 win to show for.I would like to see Larson win another one but Blaney is strong right now. Would not have mind seeing Harvick win one in his last year and been a good story today. It is what it is I guess. Will miss personalities like him in the sport even if he wasn't my favorite driver. The winner of the race was kind of an after thought.
I agree that this car has produced some of the worst racing ever.Fix this damn car. Race today was just terrible. Go back to Homestead for the Finale
Tires that won't wear out, aero dependent designs, cars that are too equal and nobody can play in the grey area to gain advantages all makes for racing that relies as much on strategy and clean air as anything.I thought Kentucky Speedway was causing all of the crappy racing?
Reeks of Childress flexing his muscle putting Dillon in the ride due to their technical alliance with Kaulig Racing.Last Dale Jr. Download seemed to confirm the rumor during the late season of Ty Dillon taking over the #16 from Allmendinger. This is a bad move IMO and still think AJ offers so much more to an organization with his experience and the number of road courses on the schedule. He has to be a favorite every time NASCAR is on a road course with so many on the schedule. Steal an early win on one or a wildcard superspeedway race, the playoffs set up well for a driver like him with Watkins Glen in the 1st round of 16, anything can happen at Talladega in the round of 12 and suddenly you could throw a whole wrench into the season racing for the Championship 4 where he has Top 5's in consecutive fall Homestead races. It's a long shot but better than no shot with Ty Dillon. Promoting Daniel Hemric would make more sense from within that Dillon.

I think it has more to do with sponsorship backing the Childress name and their relationship to Richard more than anything the Dillons have ever done. At least Austin has managed to win a few races in his career and can understand it with him in the #3. Ty lost a ride 4 straight seasons. The Dillon boys will always have a ride somewhere because they bring sponsorship with them. That is why Paul Menard had a ride for years despite winning 1 race in his career.
Ferris Mowers has sponsored Ty since his late model days way back in 2013 even if they haven't always been a primary sponsor.I think it has more to do with sponsorship backing the Childress name and their relationship to Richard more than anything the Dillons have ever done. Yeah the Childress name is why they can bring sponsors. I know a guy whose mom dated a former NASCAR driver and later turned owner. My friend even did some spotting for his cup team. He said today's NASCAR is more about what you bring to the table from a sponsor standpoint than a driver standpoint. He said the guy told him that Dale Earnhardt and some other NASCAR greats probably would never have made it to the Cup series today because they didn't have the financial sponsorship to bring with them. He said it has changed a lot over the last 20 years and that you can be a terrible driver but if you have a big sponsor a lot of teams will keep you in the car to keep the doors to the shop open.I think it has more to do with sponsorship backing the Childress name and their relationship to Richard more than anything the Dillons have ever done. It's definitely a different era from the days where Earnhardt said growing up how they struggled to put food on the table during the week and have enough money to go race on the weekends and use their earnings to buy food for the family. A guy I worked with at AT&T used to be on the Brewco Motorsports Busch Series team based in Central City and only started working at AT&T once the shop got sold in the mid-2000s. Worked there when they had the Green Brothers, Jeff Purvis and early on in Jamie McMurray's career. Overtime that team would continue to get sold and merge with other organizations. I think some of the people that originally bought them out eventually sold to ThorSport Racing in the Truck Series.Yeah the Childress name is why they can bring sponsors.
