Did Reed Sheppard lose his “Lifetime Y” card?

No, not at all reasonable. Are you kidding? On the day we played them? He can support Cal 364 other days of the year, but not when we are playing them. I don't recall Jamal Mashburn, or any of Pitino's players, suddenly wearing a UL shirt when Rick came back to Rupp.
Slightly different considering one is a major in-state rival.

However, completely different times now. Would anyone have cared or would it have been all over the news or social media back then what a player wore during a regular season NBA building entrance?

If Reed was benched, how did he average more minutes?

Nick Young Wtf GIF
Here come the Cal Slurper alt accounts that were waiting for a moment like this

Was trying to think what to compare this to, and I realized it had a similar vibe to Rex Chapman spewing Cal to the Lakers nonsense on championship game day in 2014.

At least Reed isn’t a pill head robbing Apple stores.
Do you know this for sure? Something made him think his action was reasonable. Lol I am just kidding.

The Sheppard family should realize that Cal won't be around forever, but Kentucky will be around for at least the duration of Reed's life span. As witnessed by Rex Chapman, UK fans have long memories.
Not a good decision by Reed but I don’t see him being viewed like Rex . It seems like Reed is not outspoken like Rex . He’s a quiet kid that didn’t make the best decision here . I hope people won’t hate him .

Maybe we'll get another chance at them in SEC Tourney and we're more healthy. They shot the lights out of it plus we had nobody that could guard Wagner..
DJ made more layups in that game than he did for his entire season at Kentucky. Normally he misses more layups than he makes. I think those boys should have been pee tested after the game. I think they were all under the influence of something. Lol

I hear you but sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words times 10.

Hope he reimburses his Dad for the money he loses as people pull their investments from his financial company and it will happen. The fan base seems pretty united on this

You give it a rest. There is nothing wrong with expressing your feelings about it.
What happened to the old "political answer" ie I will support my coach anytime he is not playing the CATS otherwise my loyalty will always be to the school which game me the opportunity to pursue my dreams and the school that did the same for my parents! In fact my Dad was the roommate of the current UK Coach!

Poor choices made by Reed and hopefully he will realize this and apologize to the BBN for youthful indescretion.

It’s kind of sad, but he is like pretty much everyone these days to be honest. Don’t know how to keep their mouth shut. You may think something that you know won’t be received well, but that’s not the problem. The problem is when you decide to actually say it out loud. There are many times in ones life where you just need to shut the F… up.

It's obviously not a small deal to you either.

He was recruited/followed by Cal for 2 -3 years and had obviously built a pretty good relationship with him. He seemed to have a very strong relationship with him since. I have had teachers for a semester or year growing up that I still have strong relationships with today. Sometimes you just connect with certain people.

It's not like he dissed UK. He literally had on UK shorts. Even said he loved and was pulling for UK to win, but that he also supported his former coach and teammates. Seems pretty reasonable.
its only an issue because I understand what it means to a Kentucky fan

and very disappointed in that Reed, regardless of age, should have known better.

it was his choice, but its hurt his brand and fans have long memories. Just ask Rex.

the only thing I can think as to why he'd do this is he thought it was a foregone conclusion that UK would win and Cal would be stunned at the lack of support.

But it was still dumb x infinity

Oh, okay.

Reed should have definitely known better than to show his former coach and mentor respect and support. He has to act in accordance with what the extremely fragile fanbase desires. Got it!

we'll see how it plays out in the next few weeks.

I have a feeling a new narrative may come out.
It will. Our real fans will get over it, if even bothered in the first place, and move on. He was laughing about it in his interview. He knows it's a small minority, like what exists on here, that actually gets bothered by it. Those are the ones he and the others players love to troll, because they know they can.

I highly doubt with the 30+ million he is making off his NBA contract he is going to be impacted by the couple hundred over emotional and irrational losers on here who are melting down over it. To him and the others, those type fans are nothing more than checker pieces they can play games with.

there it is. The real fan statement.

your opinion, is not only ratio'd here, but it's at least 30:1 on twitter.

Again, lets see where the fall out is in the next few weeks. I can promise you Reed Sheppard did not anticipate this backlash

and his parents are aware of it.

Here are some valid questions: (Looking at the other side of the coin)

If Reed had a UK shirt and Arkansas shorts.

Would that change your mind?

Would that look better for him?

If he had a Coach Cal T shirt on instead of Arkansas, would that help alleviate concern?

Are you retarded? 😂

Just another University of Calipari alumnus, we've had quite a few.
I was in the minority on this but said the day he left I really didnt feel the "Reeds Legacy" thing here was secure like most said. I argued on this board that it COULD have been with another year here, but to go out the way he did on such a sour note and run for the money . . . I thought he would end up just another one of Cal's one and dones with no real attachment from them to the program or us to them. Might be playing out that way.

lots of way to support Cal without wearing Arkansas gear.

He should be very smart with that money because 3.2 points a game won't keep you there very long.

Lol, it's basically the same statement you made about knowing how true KY fans would feel. Now it's a problem?

Oh, no...Twitter!?!?! That settles it! I bet a large portion of UK fanbase is on twitter discussing basketball.

I bet the Sheppard's are in the fetal position crying and desperately trying to resolve this utter calamity as we speak. They are probably fearful to open the blinds. These are the same people who allegedly hated Cal and didn’t even want Reed to play for him after all. At least that's what I read here.

Look at their post history and you'll have your answer
and the other part of that is, the more you fight it, the more fans are going to dig in.

just admit it was a bad look and move on. No need to antagonize fans to the point they become angrier with Sheppard and his family.

I'm not projecting however - I can provide you with many, many example real time of how UK fans feel.

You on the other hand are trying to build a narrative that clearly goes against the current sentiment, and its a noob 101 post to go with the "real fan" statement. Next you'll be bringing Hitler into the argument.
