NASCAR thread

NASCAR confiscated the hood louvers from all Hendrick cars on Saturday because they felt something was fishy with them. It didn't seem to make any difference because they still ran pretty well so if that part would have given them an advantage I guess they would have lapped the field if they would have used the illegal part. 🤷‍♂️😂

I think Mike is a good guy and appreciate that he's been apart of the sport for about as long as I've been watching NASCAR but don't agree with his remarks towards fans during the live broadcast. Heard them as he made them. Joy's being a bit of a hypocrite here because he's gone on Dale Jr. Download and mentioned some of the things he's complaining about fans bitching about like the graphics on screen needing to be changed up. There are a lot of commercials and they could at least be like Indy and do side by side throughout the entire race.

Here's a nice change up in the booth to look forward to getting a current driver's perspective in this new car and driven at COTA.

I have never understood why the had the pylon on the side that took up 1/4 of the screen. Just scroll it at the top because it takes up less screen so you can see more racing.

I agree, watching practice yesterday and cars on track covered up by it is terrible. The way Fox did it when they 1st started looked good. These days with the apps and ability to follow online, if we want all of that info on the screen there's ways to find that info on the internet.

Hope some other networks step up and challenge FOX/NBC after the current media deal expires after 2024. Would be nice to see MAV TV revamped and be like the old SPEED Channel days.

Hendrick fines and suspensions upheld.

Points penalty rescinded for all 4 cars

Bowman back to points lead

I get that it is a single source part but according to several around the situation including other teams the parts aren't being made consistently and will not fit the space they are supposed to go in without some modifications. Maybe they went to far with it but how about NASCAR find a company who can consistently make a compliant part?

Byron had a nice run until the late race crash but 1-2 with Larson & Josh Berry's team with one hell of a late race pit stop.

Byron could have 4 wins if not for some bad luck and ill times cautions. He is on a real heater as is Hendrick in general. They currently have 3 of the top 6 in points and count for 3 of the 7 wins.

If Hendrick can find some part-time sponsorship, he should bring back the #25 for a few races this year for Josh Berry after Chase comes back much like they did for Elliott during Gordon's final year in 2015. Berry isn't getting any younger and he's ready for a Cup ride.

Listening to them in the postrace talk it up saying it was a 'home run'. It was a caution fest. Has the potential to be one helluva race someday eventually.

Bristol on dirt never took off in the way NASCAR had hoped shaking up the schedule. Bristol is exciting enough that you do not need any gimmicks to get people to show up. Dirt race on Easter Sunday had a lot of empty seats. The Bristol race in the late summer on asphalt is a different story. IMO, ditch some the rovals and Bristol is too exciting of a race to take one of them on asphalt off the schedule. No one is thrilled when NASCAR is running the Indy Roval or Charlotte Roval. Especially when you have the Indy Roval & Watkins Glen back to back in August. I love the Atlanta configuration, North Wilkesboro and going to COTA. The street race excites me but it will likely be a disaster the 1st time around. Rovals for tracks already on the schedule do nothing for me.

According to his Wiki page the dude has lived a strange life. I mean who needs or wants "friends" like that?......

Personal life

In February 2018, Ware tweeted that he struggles with depression and anxiety.[44] Three months later, he revealed on Facebook that he has Asperger syndrome.[45]

In May 2021, Ware revealed that during his teenage years, a group of friends led him to the woods only to douse gasoline on him and set him on fire, resulting in severe burns on the back of his legs.[46]

Ware's younger brother Carson races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Truck Series, and ARCA Menards Series.[47]

In April 2023, Ware was arrested for a felony assault by strangulation and misdemeanor on a female[48], he originally missed the Food City Dirt Race at Bristol due to personal reasons and was replaced by Matt Crafton who finished 34th with engine problems. NASCAR indefinitely suspended him on April 10th.[49]
