NASCAR thread

I'm kinda curious why you think why you think this.
Mainly just based on that I have heard other racial slurs such as chink, wetback, cracker, honky, raghead, etc said without the backlash that saying the N word gets. The fact that you can say those words and don't have to say the "C word" or "W word" just shows that they aren't looked at as negative. If you walk up to anyone and ask if the know what the "N word" is they will know but walk up to someone ask if they know what the "C Word" or "W word" is and see if they immediately know what you are talking about.

Is there anyone who thinks they are owed more than Martin Truex. He acts like guys should get out of his way if he wants to pass. Sorry but on the last lap if my driver moves over and lets you pass then he is out of a job the next day. Guys are paid to finish as good as they can and coming to the checkered flag bumping, blocking, etc are all on the table to me.

I love the retro theme for Darlington and the throwback paint schemes. A lot of them bring back some childhood memories of watching NASCAR with my dad who was always a fan of King Richard. He kind of lost some of his interest when Richard retired. My dad actually used to race on local dirt tracks but it was before I was old enough to remember watching him. I just have pics, newspaper clippings and his stories he shared as memories.

I guess I missed this contact Logano is referencing Byron getting into him earlier in the race.. It's a different story if Logano was given the chrome horn. One thing to move a guy on the last lap but they hadn't even taken the white flag yet with Byron going from 1st to 13th. William owes him one now.

I think it was on the last restart. Joey was on the outside and William went underneath to pass. He gave Joey room but he got into the wall anyway so I guess that was Byron's fault to him since he doesn't do any wrong. I hope he dumps him at some point during the chase that cost him an opportunity to advance.

So if Logano faster, why doesn't Byron get out of the way? No JL fan, but seemed Byron was screwing with him to me.

It really boils down to Byron trying to win the race himself. What all drivers should be out there doing late in the race. I don't mind a bump and run regardless who does it but it's a chicken shit move before you take the white flag and dropping Byron to 13th. At least in turn 3 and 4 on the final lap Byron could've salvaged a top 5 still. Logano was gaining ground fast and still had time to make a clean pass.

It was on the restart and as they went into the turn with Byron passing Joey for the lead Joey got loose and into the wall. I guess he is like Truex and thinks people should move out of his way and let him win. Byron's car was getting loose at the end and Joey had made up almost a second deficit. He had the faster car and 1 1/2 laps to go. He could easily have passed without wrecking him but instead just ran over him and then bragged about it after the race. Just another punk move by Sliced Bread IMO.

Jimmie Johnson has been fast since they unloaded the cars at Indy. Looks like he's finally getting adjusted to it over there now. Fastest practice lap at Indy in nearly 30 years.

NASCAR is damn lucky that Ryan won that race. I think they realized how badly they ****ed up and how much worse it would be if they made Ryan come down pit road and fix the window net.

That caution was unbelievably bad, even by NASCAR's standards.

They are so inconsistent on when they throw a caution. Sometimes a guy can hit the wall, sustain no damage and keep going and they throw it and other times a guy knocks the wall down and they keep out the green.

Agreed. They are horribly inconsistent.

It's blatantly obvious that they were desperately hoping for a caution because they knew how ****ing boring that race was.

It is amazing they keep building cars that is even harder for passing to take place than the generation before it was.

Carl Edwards appears to have nothing to do with the sport whatsoever anymore but I feel like he would have been a natural in the booth and a great guest analyst. Maybe next year if they don't fill the position permanently.

Carl has the funKYcat life plan down pat: get rich, stop working, and do whateverTF I want.

I just need to get rich, and it’s on.

Chastain is entertaining, aggressive but he put this target on his back all by himself.

Chase: " I want you to meet my new best friend, Denny Hamlin." Hilarious. LMAO.

Good to see Chastain own up to his mistakes after the race. Gave me some flashbacks of a young Ernie Irvan back in the day. It won't get him off the hook that easy like he was hoping on the radio to his team during the race, saying the #11 'made his point' but Denny is one of those that won't forget. Chastain certainly did not make many friends today running into Elliott too, the bump and run on Allmendinger at COTA. He's good for the sport but like Denny said, all of us go through it at some point.
