You think FSU can afford 60m buyout?Dead men walkin.
Norvell is an interesting issue. Does he get fired for having an 0-3 start after having an undefeated season last year?
Napier won’t survive the year. Will he even be the coach by the time UK plays Florida?
I mean how many teams in CF history have been preseason AP top 10 only to lose their first 3 games and start 0-3?
Im guessing Florida State is the only one.
All to untanked teams, at least at the time of the games and 2 at home and 1 on a neutral field.
FSU may only win 2-3 games and were preseason top 10?
WTF?
Next UK coaching searches
Wasn’t Curry fired and was 9-2 but lost to AuburnWhen was the last time UK hired a football coach off the just-fired list? Was Bill Curry fired or did he bolt before they had the chance. I don’t remember.
IIRC, one step ahead of the grim reaperWasn’t Curry fired and was 9-2 but lost to Auburn
They had this stat on tv earlier. There are 6 teams to accomplish this feat.I mean how many teams in CF history have been preseason AP top 10 only to lose their first 3 games and start 0-3?

FSU has started 0-3 just 3 times in the last 50 yrs, 1976 in Bowdens 1st season, Norvell twice (2021 and 2024).
No way he survives this season.
The goose is cooked.
Norvell will get another year because of last year. But, I agree with the above poster about losing momentum in a hurry. They started 13-0 last year and have now lost 5 or 6 games in a row! Big Mo is a real thing. No way he survives this season.

In the Swamp; more like the mud puddle these days…Napier and the Gators getting rolled by TAMU.
as i recall two were about 10 years ago and the other three were 30-40 years ago. I think there may have been a 50 year filter on the search.Oh wow, that is crazy. Any of the other ones in modern times?
Hearing that hasn’t happened yet. Board meeting today and they have the 25 million buyout.
Yeah hard to fire a coach who was 13-1 the year before. Obviously something changed from last year to this season and the easy scapegoat is their terrible QB play. They’re probably paying DJU a boatland in NIL and don’t want to bench him for that reason but… man, he does not have it. Come back next year with a competent QB and manage to not lose half your roster after this failure of a season and then we’ll see how Norvell does.Norvell will get another year because of last year. Getting a very bad QB in the portal is another real back breaker!
UF will throw a boatload of money at Kiffin, he'll turn them down and they'll mistakenly settle for Malzahn....hide and watch.Norvell is not getting fired any time soon. That’s ridiculous regardless of this season. He just had two good years.
Napier was awful from the get go and Florida fired a coach too early before him. They have had four head coaches since Urban left in 2010. I’m not even counting the interim guys. Getting rid of Napier makes it five coaches.
Bad hires and getting rid of Mullen too quickly has created a stigma with this program. They’re basically Nebraska football now.
I agree they will go after kiffen as they should.UF will throw a boatload of money at Kiffin, he'll turn them down and they'll mistakenly settle for Malzahn....hide and watch.
He slipped out of town before they could hang a pink slip on him... good work by his agent. Was Jimmy Sexton around then and representing him?IIRC, one step ahead of the grim reaper
Yes. If Meyer is interested, absolutely it could happen. But I think Kiffin might be the first call, even if Meyer is interested, and it's no lock that Kiffin accepts, so it could go either way, or possibly Fisch or Drinkwitz end up there.Any chance UF brings back Urban Meyer?
I would believe Stoops to FSU before Florida, but if we manage to beat them again this year, I could see some of their fans having no issue bringing in the coach who has beaten them 5 out of 7 years. They would have to respect that, right?Yes. If Meyer is interested, absolutely it could happen. A couple of Internet dummies have suggested Stoops as an option. Not happening lol.
Arkansas already has his replacement on staff…feels like they’ve just been waiting for a reason to hand the reigns to PetrinoLooking like you can add Pittman at Arkansas to this list
Petrino followed Jimbo last year hoping he would get a chance at A&M job when Jimbo got fired. He then goes to Arkansas hoping for same scenario this year. BP is like the grim reaper sneaking around behind the scenes. I admittedly know nothing about the man, but appears to be trying to catch an SEC job mid season to try and resurrect his career.Arkansas already has his replacement on staff…feels like they’ve just been waiting for a reason to hand the reigns to Petrino
Petrino's in his mid-60s, doubt anybody in P5 would want to turn their program over to him at that age.Petrino followed Jimbo last year hoping he would get a chance at A&M job when Jimbo got fired. Probably not. Every year the UF forums are filled with people that have amnesia about us spanking that Azzz (much like UL) when discussing UKI would believe Stoops to FSU before Florida, but if we manage to beat them again this year, I could see some of their fans having no issue bringing in the coach who has beaten them 5 out of 7 years.
