N.O.B.

I am getting my car back from a “paint correction” detail tomorrow. Gonna spare you my OCD for car perfection, but Gahtdayum shit took 3 Days to do.

My particular car isn’t worth (price wise) the way I treat it, but it’s mine, paid-for, and mint.

I am a firm believer of pure Carnauba waxes, claybars and whatnot... but when I asked Phil about applying a ceramic coating: he simply said, that’d be an additional $1395.00.

Jeesh. No thanks. OCD has its limits.

Link to vid is DetailersDomain in my hometown where Phil Yiu runs an online supply shop and detailing paradise. I’ve been scheduled since November...

I usually clay bar my cars once a year. I’d really like to learn how to do good paint touch up. I’ve watched videos and it seems that most blend with something like a rubbing compound. I’m too chicken to get that aggressive.

As for waxes, I like the look of carnubu better than synthetic. Carnuba has a warmer richer look to it.

1300 down here will get you a 4coat ceramic coating + wheels tires + interior with a lifetime warranty. Idk what that means exactly, but sounds like 1300 dollars and your car is protected for life? How do you maintain the ceramic coat?

That doesn’t sound awful if you just bought a new boss ass vehicle you plan on having for a while.

Ceramic coating is exactly what it sounds like... depending on quality of product, some stuff allows you to not reprotect for 5 years. You never need to wax as it is hydrophobic and bonds to your paint... water doesn’t bead, it just slips off. Some folks put ceramic then film their car which ensure factory-fresh paint basically for life of car.

So I picked up my car. Looks awesome. They got rid of 85% of the marring and swirls. She feels like glass. They didn’t do interior leather... I’ll do that(badly). They also cleaned underside, exhaust tips and engine bay at no extree cost!

They were working on a maroon Ferrari Superfast when I walked in. “You’re here to pick up the ‘13 1-Series?” I started laughing doing quick math in my head. I said, no I’m here to pick up that!

Started raining the second I drove off. Beat.

Car wash is adventure for me.

Gotta have a colonoscopy tomorry mornin'...

The Bad: starting the prep this afternoon
(counterpoint: I get to leave at midday)

The Good: I get to fake being under the effects of anesthesia all day tomorrow, thus missing my nephew's high school graduation while staying home alone on a Friday night watching basketball, intrawebnet porns and getting plastered

The Better: I'm really good at this faking stuff so I should be able to milk it through most of Saturday

The Best: NO WORK MONDAY

#winning...again

As long as you don't mind having a tube shoved up your ass.

Good luck, Mav.

Teacher Man, I know you're real busy and all, but I kind of expected a poll or something for this election day/memorial day week.

Maybe a condiment poll? I love a good mustard.

I thought about one, but I'm not at my desk much this week what will all the end-of-year going-ons.

Spice Poll. Definitely.
