Well...the UGA game went pretty much as expected. Will be interesting to see what happens in the UofL game. Seems like a toss up to me.
I mean, UofL isn't that good so I can see us making a game of it and actually having a shot to win it at the end. But it wouldn't surprise me if we got beat by 2+TD's.

Man, i just don't think we will ever beat the upper echelon of the SEC.
Oh you will get a one-off upset every now and again like the 2007 win vs #1 LSU. But not consistently year in and year out.
And you won't even get a season where we beat two of them. If ever THAT was gonna happen it would have been THIS season. This year's schedule was the easiest I have seen in 40+ years as a UK fan. And we won 7 games (maybe 8) but didn't knock off a top SEC foe.

I am happy with those 7 or 8 wins, a decent bowl game (hello Music City Bowl!) and the rare win over the Vols...albeit the worst team they have had in Knoxtown in quite some time. I'll still take it. All of it.

We lose to UL (which we will) and we lose our stupid participation Bowl (probably will) and stoops can go get f'd. If we can't cut his salary in half to match his performance, then just cut the 12mil buyout check and pay John gruden 100mil to coach here.

His contract was extended BEFORE this season way back in March. Extended through the 2022 season. That extension included some crazy incentives...one of which is he gets one year added to his contract for winning at least 7 games!!! So Stoops is in Lextown through 2023 as of now. Like I stated before...you might as well settle for mediocrity as our ceiling...because mitchy has already done just that.
Stoops' latest contract extension, awarded in March, includes a clause that triggers an automatic one-year extension to the deal previously set to expire in June 2022 for any season his team wins at least seven games. Should Stoops' team reach the 10-win plateau this season, the deal would be extended by another season.
I mean, I don't hate stoops' agent for doing his job, but gd Mitch, consult somebody smart before you do this crap.

I don’t think Stoops will ever be a great coach, but he has us to 7 wins with a chance at 9. Since 1982, Kentucky has averaged just under 5 wins per season. If we can start winning 7-8/yr and a bowl game that may be our ceiling. The frustrating part is that other than Vandy, none of our wins came easy. We need to get the easy wins and once a year pick up an unexpected win.
