Murray is visiting Oregon

Per reliable source(s) 2016 Jamal Murray will graduate this semester and is a strong possibility to represent Canada at Pan Am games.

I do think he gets serious minutes this year, he is really good.

KU fans aren't expecting him to play significant minutes this season. They see him as a McLemore type that comes in and possibly redshirts or plays very little then plays big minutes his second year.

Right now they have Selden, Green, Mykhailiuk, and Bragg that can play on the wing. Selden starts and gets most of the minutes at the 2. The 3 spot will be a battle between the other three. With the logjam they have at the 4 and 5 spots, I'd say Bragg gets first crack at that spot. If he can't handle it, then I think Greene starts. Ellis and Diallo will start inside with Traylor, Lucas, and Mickelson fighting for minutes behind them.

KU was pretty loaded before Vick signed, he is an investment for the 2016-17 season.

Greene had hip surgery and will be out 5 months.

Just telling you what KU fans are thinking, based on their comments after Vick committed.

Greene will be back by November, I would think. So I don't think it affects their plans with Vick.

I would think that we, as UK fans, would WANT these recruits to make all their visits and gather all info they need. We want these players sure they want to be here, not somewhere else. We want them to know what they are walking into, right?

I know we've had guys in the past who have probably realized it was a mistake to come to UK, and because of that didn't give all the effort they could have. No, if Murray, or any other recruit isn't sure, then we want them to take their time.

BKO, as always you hit it on the head!

From what I've read and seen from that team I agree with most of what you wrote except the part about Green. He is too small to play the 4 or the 5. Green will part of the log jam at the 3. They also brought in Coleby a 6'9" power forward that is gonna play in 2016. So the 4 position will be between him and and Bragg and I expect they'll sign a 5 star from that class for that position. As for Vick, I've read he really excelled in the AAU games last week and is moving up as a top 30 guy. He will back up Selden along with Graham. If Selden doesn't improve from last year then Vick will get a lot of his minutes.

I never said Greene would play the 4 or 5. He'll play at the 2 or 3. I said he might start at the 3.

When I went back and read, I can see where I wasn't clear about that.

Greene and Bragg will battle for the 3 spot. I meant that Bragg will get a shot at the 3 because of the logjam at the 4 and 5.

I see them looking something like this:

G Mason/Graham
G Selden/Mykhailiuk/Vick
F Bragg/Greene
F Ellis/Mickelson/Coleby
F Diallo/Traylor/Lucas

Some chatter about the Vegas pro team targeting Murray. They must not have heard he's visited Oregon twice.

Yes...they are but at this point I'm wouldn't be worried in the least bit about that joke. Oregon is the only worry at this point

I agree. He can do a lot better over the years with Nike money, which is why Oregon has always been a concern.

I'll believe that Vegas team when I see it.

I'm sure they can pull together an Athletes in Action type of deal, but they are talking about getting started in October with 5+ current McDonald's All-Americans and a staff with NBA experience.

That's 4 months from now. I think if they were going to pull this off, some big shoe would have already dropped somewhere. If I were an elite prospect I wouldn't touch that thing with a 10 foot poll - unless I was academically ineligible and short on options.

Maybe they can recruit some of the UNC kids...

haha. That's gold. Vick is the next Hunter McClintock. "man oh man, that Vick is breakin' ankles over in Lawrence" Vick has now hit mythical status.

Ok, Backdoor. Vick reclassified from a 40-70 ranking. haha Guy wasn't even top 20 in either this year or next year. Vick opened the door for two and three star players to reclassify.

As for UK, who is Vick better than? Maybe Hawkins, but he doesn't have Hawkins experience. Mulder? Nope. He's not better than Mulder, Matthews, Briscoe, Ulis. So where's Vick getting the minutes at UK?
Legearld Vick is 37th in the 2015 rankings.

How stupid do your posts look now?

Vick is better than most are giving credit. He's ranked higher than Matthews, so that must mean Matthews is no good lol. Give me a break. Vick is better than most believe, and so is Matthews. Just because he didn't pick UK, doesn't automatically make him doodie

And one of my posts stated that Vick was ranked 40-70, if you had taken the time to read it rather than going on a pissy witch hunt. . So I was 3 spots off. Yawn. With Self getting 4 star talent to reclassify, I can't wait till he reclassifies a 2 star project.

And Vick won't get any significant minutes this year. Actually, he'd get more bench minutes at KU than UK. Because Vick isn't good enough to take time from Briscoe, Ulis, Matthews, and Mulder. And Dom. That's right. Give me a junior Hawkins over a frosh Vick anyday of the week. Now when Vick is a junior, that is a different story.

I previously have asked what the reasons would be for Murray picking Oregon from a basketball standpoint. Someone shot the easy answer back to me that Oregon offers more playing time at the guard positions.

This is completely baseless when one takes the time to consider the roster makeup of UK and Oregon. In fact, Oregon has a more complete 1-3 position rotation than Kentucky presently does.

It just seems like our fans are trying to create an excuse beforehand, and I'm having a hard time buying it if that scenario plays out.

Looks to me like they have about 10 guards or small forwards on their roster.. Hell be at UK..

Go immediately to KSR and read Murray's hilarious blog about his Oregon visit. DO NOT drink liquid while reading. He's a Cat.

I hope you are kidding....that blog post was written by KSR as a joke.

What size earthquake does the state of Kentucky register in the scenario where Murray picks the Ducks?
