Murray is visiting Oregon

Don't read too much in the visit just like we all should've not read too much into the cancel last weekend. Ends up the cancellation was due to a schedule conflict.

Anyway, most expected an Oregon visit all along. They've recruited him the longest & hardest. Many think it's out of courtesy & UK will be the ultimate choice. However, after all that's happened this Spring in recruiting you would think we all would recognize that the Oregon staff is ready to do all they can to convince the Murray's that the best choice is Oregon. I'd like to think there's just no way to do that; however, this Spring has taught us all otherwise.

Second time visiting them.

Nothing that happened prior to the Hoop Summit can really be considered. That performance on that stage is why these visits are happening now and not while he's a senior next season.

I don't know why people think Oregon's facilities will blow him away on this visit. It's not the first time he's been there. Plus, it's almost universally agreed upon that UK's training facilities for basketball is the best in the country. If he wants to play against the best players, get better, and raise his stock, he'll go to UK.

Uh...as nice as Joe Craft and the new lodge are they are nothing compared to what Oregon has. The Oregon campus and sports facilities are ridiculous.

How many banners do the Ducks have hanging in their posh man cave? I gotta think winning games should have something to do with this decision. I found this in the article from zagsblog:

"
There is no timetable on the decision and it could go into the summer.

“[Maybe] two months,” Murray said. “My dad’s taking care of it. That’s a choice for my dad to make.”

Does that sound like Papa Murray is pulling all the strings in this one?

He's been there once, going back a second time is HUGEEEEE for Oregon regardless what anyone here thinks. I'm a realist and this cannot he a good thing for us. Hope we land the guy but I'm way less confident today than I was yesterday.

Oregon's arena (which has a built-in practice facility ... with all the Nike bells and whistles) is pretty amazing.

If anybody has nicer facilities than us, it's them (and maybe Duke).

I have to say, after several years of posting here, your stance on this shocks me.

Yeah, it is very shocking indeed. Murray said he would take more visits...so this is not a suprise to anyone. He delayed it, just like he did UK's visit.

I can't understand why a kid that wants to get drafted first would want to go anywhere besides UK, Duke, or KU at this time.

If one of those three wants you, and have a starting spot for you, why go somewhere else?

In the last five years, it's been UK with 2 top picks, Duke with 1, and KU with 1.

Then you've got a Duke player and a UK battling for the top spot again.

It's hard to be the top pick and Cal has already got 3 guys drafted there in the last seven drafts and could have a fourth in a few weeks.

I just can't see why he would pick Oregon over UK. Oregon is a football school and hasn't produced a lottery pick in forever.

But it's been a weird spring in recruiting.

I'm sure if Duke needed him he would go there. They seem to get everyone they target.

Jerry Meyer just switched his pick to Oregon, and someone named Ethan Moore did as well. He's a UL fan, so it may just be wishful thinking on his part

The Murrays have a relationship with Oregon. Their visit is to be expected. That said, Oregon's still a player in this thing. If he goes there, color me bummed, but life goes on. Recruiting is a love-hate relationship these days, but given how things have gone the last half-decade, we can't really complain.

Why cant you admit that visiting a school for a second time this late in the game is a pretty big deal? I promise nobody will think u are less of a UK fan for being honest with yourself for once.

These guys shouldn't be allowed to switch their pick once they make a pick. No incentive to ever make an educated guess when you can just change it whenever you want.

Because this is the first time he's visited under these circumstances. He's probably going to visit other places too. His recruitment is basically all taking place in the span of two months.

Your version of reality was that Kansas owns us in recruiting. That didn't change despite several pages of evidence proving you wrong. You form your opinions and then see what you want. There's no reason to lend any credence to people who think that way.

But we should lend credence to you because? Just because you constantly criticize other posters and try to force your opinion on others to the point of nauseum?

Also I forgot, you are another in a long line of recruiting insiders we have on here.

Jerry Meyer should be banned from making any predictions in the future. He's horrible.

While it may not be bad news for UK he is visiting Oregon (again, with his entire family), it certainly in no way can be good.

You know I agree on this, I used to consider him the best in the business for several years but he's gone to pot...his "crystal ball" junk is absurd, he just changes it based on where a recruit visits.

I wouldn't panic yet. Must have some interest in Oregon, but from what ive heard the visit to Kentucky went very well. But this class has been strange, so I wouldn't count anything out.

No, because I use evidence to form my opinions instead of whining about any and everything for a decade. That you don't understand this by now is exactly why I said there's no point in bothering. A dozen people tried to explain the Kansas recruiting thing to you and you kept your head buried and moved the goal posts.

Again, if you can't see that Murray's recruitment has changed in the last few months and is all taking place right now, essentially independent of what was happening prior to the Hoop Summit, then go ahead and be wrong. You're free to have whatever terrible opinion you'd like.

I'm sure Oregon was recruiting him for 2015 all along, just like Anthony Davis is probably heading to Cleveland State since they need a combo guard for 2011 and nothing ever changes in recruiting as a prospect's stock soars. Hope he matches up with Tyler Ulis when they play Iowa.

In YOUR opinion.

doesn't matter. They wouldn't be wasting their time bringing him in if there was no way to open up a scholarship. There's always a way to get a player you want. It's been happening for decades.

Agreed. The fact that they haven't already makes me think that either they aren't confident in getting Murray or at least aren't sure as to what he will do. I think if Murray would have made them confident, they would have already opened a spot and tried to get the commit while he is there on campus. I guess on the other side of it, if they somehow open up a spot in the next week then I'd say some things happened in Oregon's favor on the visit and they either got the commit or feel very confident about it. This next week will tell a lot I would say. JMO though.

He always said he was taking other visits which is good for us IMO as Oregon , UConn ect don't have the facilities we have . Thats what matters to Murray.

UConn might not have the facilities to match us but Oregon sure as hell does. Just go look it up on YouTube. Aaaammmmmaaaazzing!!
