Mounjaro/Ozempic weight loss

Please tell me what is “bad” about test supps?

I never said anything about antibiotics, in fact, I like them when I need them but will not take daily meds that aren’t completely necessary.

Doc said my cholesterol was a hair high and I said well duh i eat 75% meat and I’m on test. He asked if I wanted a statin 😂, no boss I’ll be fine.

Plus, I don’t 100% believe all the bs between heart disease and cholesterol. They’ve constantly lowered the acceptable levels, imo, to get more and more people using statins for the last 30-40 years of their life.

There’s nothing “bad”.

Just funny to see people railing against diet drugs because people should do it naturally, when they’re on testosterone. Also funny to see someone railing against big pharma that doesn’t even know what amoxicillin is.

You’re both right in principle but sound completely ignorant or hypocritical.

But are you toning up or just getting less saggy? I mean either way it’s a plus but just being less fat wouldn’t be enough for me personally.

I'm down 7 since mid-December by walking / running more (up from 6.1 to 7.5 total miles per day) and counting my calories and macros on a food app. Started lifting more too.
Take it to the next level and incorporate intermittent fasting. Being a 3rd shifter makes this easier to do. 16-8 worked for me. I dropped weight fast while cutting out sugar, bread and lifting dumbbells at home with some pushups.

Saw a story on the news the other day about how diabetics are having trouble getting ozempic because docs are prescribing it to non diabetics who just want to lose weight. You don't need pills to lose weight. Heck, you don't need pills for a lot of things. I don't understand people who want to take pills because they can. That's not hate towards those folks. I just don't get it. If you don't need it then why take it?

Ozempic has an indication for weight loss. It’s a legal and recognized Rx for the use. 🍺

I have this argument with my wife. I think intermittent fasting is no different than just eating less in total. Granted, it might be easier to eat less if you are only eating in a 8 hour period each day. She claims, however, that it has all these other added benefits.

PTI - your thoughts?

Granite, I'm not a great practitioner of diet, but I think the best diet, by far, is plant based/whole food. That means eating tons of whole fruit/plants/nuts/grains/etc, with a little bit of lean meat mixed in.

There's just no reason to overcomplicate it with fads and such, although I'm sure fasting does "work," if done consistently.

All sorts of articles out there on it but in short it forces your body to burn fat at a fast rate for energy as it doesnt have much sugar to work with. Not only did I shred weight, I had a better mood, my mind was clear and razor sharp, and my inflammation was wiped out. There is no need for counting calories or taking pills. A word of caution, don't exert a lot of energy like working out during fasting time. When I was a few months into it, I was weedeating a few acres and picking up sticks and the like. My sugar dropped so low and it scared the crap out of me. Cold sweats and tunnel vision. But that had nothing to do with the IF. It was just me being stupid. Just read around. You'll find useful info out there.

Agreed. I needed to do it as I was obese and stood to lose quite a bit of weight. You don't wanna have a low BMI and do this for an extended period of time. It worked for me because I needed it to.

Someone with your activity level should be eating LARGE quantities of meat. You probably need near 200g of protein per day to maintain.

Don't be scared of red meat or really any meat. As long as you're not adding all kinds of shit to it, they're very healthy

Plant based is whack and not better for you than eating a balanced diet with lots of meat based protein. If you're restricting anything it should be highly processed foods, sugars, anything fried, or calorie dense stuff.

Do exactly what anth said if you’re active, ESPECIALLY like pti. And for sure don’t be scared of meat, it’s great as long as it’s not covered in sour cream or steak sauce or all that other stuff, it’s that huge baked potato you get with it and the two handfuls of bread that you ate before it that make you fat.

Intermittent fasting I guess is fine but that’s miserable to do, I’ve seen people sitting there staring at the clock til one or two unable to focus the last hour or so fasting.

Seriously, if you even walk a mile or two daily and just eat meat, eggs, fish, some fruits veggies and nuts, stay away from sugar, that’s all you need.

If you don’t buy a gallon of ice cream you can’t eat a gallon of ice cream.

Everyone wants the simple fix, the simple fix is you. Discipline yourself, eat properly, it’s 100% you that controls these things.

As Jocko says, Discipline = Freedom

According to my food app, Sour Cream isn't that bad. Nor is steak sauce. ;) I mean it's a tablespoon and not that energy dense.
Depends on the steak sauce, A1 is not that bad but Heinz 57 & lots of others, the ranch (& the extra ranch everyone gets) on the salad(which itself has about net zero nutrients), the pound of fake butter and toppings on the baked potato, the second basket of rolls, all that stuff adds up quick.

I don't like intermittent fasting as it screws with your metabolism. I think picking a time period of say 6pm to 6am and not eating anything during those hours on a consistent basis is much better and actually helps your metabolism.

Intermittent literally means occurring at irregular intervals; not continuous or steady.

Fasting needs to be part of a routine during the same hours so as to get metabolic benefits was my whole point.

English is interesting. Hopefully as you further adopt it into your native tongue you'll more correctly be able to express your lopsided incorrect opinions a little less glaringly.

Just a quick search on intermittent fasting:

Intermittent fasting is an eating plan that switches between fasting and eating on a regular schedule. Research shows that intermittent fasting is a way to manage your weight and prevent — or even reverse — some forms of disease. But how do you do it? And is it safe?

Try again Dumbass!!!!!!

Or we could just understand what the word "intermittent" means.

Just because other people are as dumb as you are doesn't make your collective stupidity correct.

You are the only one who doesn’t know what intermittent fasting actually means so who is the dumb one here? We are not debating what the word “intermittent” means rather “intermittent fasting”. You have a problem with it take it up with the dietary community. You’re on an island by yourself which is nothing new.

LOL. Thank you for that. I enjoyed it tremendously.

I like the way you think. Let's all just discard our understanding of language and adopt whatever little fly-by-night woke group decides things will mean instead of our own ability to critically think and apply logic to the world around us.

Intermittent no longer means "intermittent" because cats2010's dietary buddies all got together and decided it means the exact opposite.

By all means keep doubling down on your stupidity. That is the reputation you have established on this board and you have done nothing here but further solidify everyone’s opinion about you. 😂😂😂 that is at you dumbass!!!!!

OK, so I've hurt my reputation with both the "dietary community" and our message board community? To think about all the time I've invested in cultivating their favor is very discouraging to find out seeing as how those are such overarching goals a person should have in life? What is a man if he is shunned by the dietary community and the obscure sports general discussion message board community? Might as well just wander the desert as a nomadic outcast hat in hand for whatever meager scraps are left over from the lepers and the poor idiots that used the wrong gender word on television.

@cats2010 is actually correct here. Intermittent fasting is typically picking a 4, 6, 8 or 10 hour period which is the only time you eat. The rest is the day/night you don’t. So, what LOL guy is doing is intermittent fasting.
