I just heard the audio. Kid talked about how UL helped Mitchell improve his shot and that "nobody else is gonna do that", and said "look at Briscoe at Kentucky. He couldn't shoot when he got there, and still can't shoot." Open mouth insert foot.

Wait, so are some saying what he said about IB is wrong? IB could not shoot when he stepped on campus and still can't shoot now. It's not Cal's fault. IB just isn't a good shooter. He's a heck of a player and seems to be a solid young man, but he can't shoot. Saying otherwise is ludicrous.
First, he improved his average in every category of shooting, so yes he was wrong. But I think you know that what people find objectionable is the lack of tact.
The point is that this kid claimed his reason for picking Louisville over other schools was that they could develop players better than other schools - pointing out that Kentucky couldn't develop Briscoe's shooting. But that makes zero sense because Kentucky never offered him a scholarship, so he didn't even have the option of picking UL over UK. No one is claiming that the substance of what he said was wrong, but it's dumb to say that he picked UL over UK when he was never even contacted by Kentucky.
