Who would you rather have running our point next year? Acaden Lewis, or Mikel Brown? Or Someone else?
Agreed.I'd take either and be happy. I like Magwood too. However I still think we need a quality upperclassmen transfer portal PG.
Agreed. At PG, I would prefer a JR or SR over a FR.
I'm ok w/ a FR at the 2,3 & 4 spots. Maybe the 5 too, if we have a good physical PF.
I haven't seen that we're recruiting him.Anyone know where we stand with Magwood?

I want whichever one who wants to be here and is willing to commit first.Who would you rather have running our point next year? Acaden Lewis, or Mikel Brown? Or Someone else?
Good point 52TDidnt
we offer Tay Kinney. I think five star. I like him.
Its not a direct comparison but Acaden reminds me Jalen Brunson in that he is a smart left hander who gets to where he wants to go and is able to finish around the basket.Just based on highlights, accolades, shooting form and fluidity, I would pick Brown. He always seems to be on balance and squared up when he takes shots. Of course highlight videos don’t usually have many passing or defensive clips, but I have heard he is above average in both categories.
However, many people rave about Acaden’s ability to make shots and toughness. He just looks average when I watch him, with the exception of making acrobatic shots. The question I ask is why is he taking so many difficult shots as a point guard? Aren’t point guards supposed to set others up for an easier shot?
The only problem with that is that we have no idea who is going to be available in the portal. Everyone assumes there will be these great options at each position. We got what we wanted in the portal, with the exception of maybe 2 players and I would not say this is a top 10 team. We are going to have to have talent and, until I can see Travis do it at the college level, I am not convinced he has the foot speed and handles to get his shot against top level talent or get an opportunity for his teammates. Doesn't mean he can't, but he has to prove it first. I prefer to recruit as good as you can at the HS level and then try to retain them and grow from within. The problem with the previous coach was he obviously promised playing time, those players lost interest in competing for a job and he did not recruit to retain.I think I'd rather have Travis Perry and a veteran transfer and a frosh point that doesn't mind if he has to redshirt his freshman year.
NOBODY that a P5 school would want is willing to redshirt.I think I'd rather have Travis Perry and a veteran transfer and a frosh point that doesn't mind if he has to redshirt his freshman year.
Kids don't redshirt anymore.I think I'd rather have Travis Perry and a veteran transfer and a frosh point that doesn't mind if he has to redshirt his freshman year.
I say Lewis because I want to see an experienced PG running our team. If a freshman PG runs the team, then it has to be a dominant player.Who would you rather have running our point next year? Acaden Lewis, or Mikel Brown? Or Someone else?
I think you’ll get your wish. I think Lewis comes to UK after asking someone smart.I say Lewis because I want to see an experienced PG running our team. If a freshman PG runs the team, then it has to be a dominant player.
I'm all for recruiting and developing the PG position!
I hope you’re correct and that the player sticks around until he graduates or is ready for NBA. (Whichever comes first.)I think you’ll get your wish. I think Lewis comes to UK after asking someone smart.
I think that will change some now; players without much chance of making the NBA can now leave college as millionaires(Okafor for example). Perry and Noah are two that might not have an NBA future but could make big bucks as a junior and senior in college so you can make an argument for redshirting any that aren't in the regular rotation.Kids don't redshirt anymore.
Do we know who this someone smart is?I think you’ll get your wish. I think Lewis comes to UK after asking someone smart.
Don’t care much about high school recruiting these days. It’s a crapshoot.Who would you rather have running our point next year? Acaden Lewis, or Mikel Brown? Or Someone else?
