This and pitino at Keeneland this weekend money talksI posted this last night but it got lost in the mix. Norlander put out a video around 2 a.m. ET this morning. Here's his exact words on Pitino.
"I was told by a source late on Sunday night that Rick Pitino's name would be invoked here. Mitch Barnhart might not be so sweet on his name being on the list, but there will be people with real influence around the state that will try to get that thing moving."
or Larry the cable guyLarry Glover apparently knows about as much as Danny Glover.
Can and should are very different LoLIf guys in their 70's can run the country, a 71-year old can coach basketball.
(That's my "throw the grenade on the table and run" moment.)
They’ll need to get someone to cover his PE classes the rest of the year but that’s a small roadblock.I wonder if my local high school coach is in the mix too….
This. But three are long shots and Trilly is hearing Oates won’t be him. Surely Mitch won’t hire Drew. If he does he can pack his bags. There should only be 4 in the mix.
Dan Hurley
Nate Oats
Jay Wright
Billy Donovan
That's it.
Hes just here for advisor only. He's not in ky to become coach.
Pitino would be fine for a three year deal. That would give Mitch time to find his guy, the fan base would be OK with it as long as he wins. Plus it would be a bigger story that Cal to Arkansas and we would be the talk of basketball.
Could you imagine Rick giving us 2-3 years and going out on top. Man what a crazy idea…..Pitino would be ok if it were an emergency stop gap and he was currently unemployed. That's the only way I could see that going. "Hey, Rick, wanna give us one year to get something long term in order? Could be fun, whatdya say? For old times sake?"
And the past two presidents have been older. Which is more demanding?Would be a pitiful hire unless he's a last option. Dudes 71 years old
Probably better, too.If guys in their 70's can run the country, a 71-year old can coach basketball.
