Kobe...Am I alone?

yeah calipari said he wanted to draft him, so he's basically kyle macy

you take inane cheap shots at lebron, who is clearly the superior player, so take your lecture on respect and your left pinkie and shove em both

Trust me that wasn't a cheap shot I could of gone a lot further. I just stated a fact that Lebron had the worst three point shooting percentage this season. Coupled with father time Lebron will have a harder downfall than Kobe will. But knowing Lebron I'm sure he will retire in 2-3 seasons to make sure his last season isn't ugly.

LeBron rebounds better because he's bigger and he's a better passer. He isn't a better scorer and will never have 5 titles like Kobe does. Maybe if he demands a trade to the Spurs in the offseason, sounds like something he would do.

He isn't a better scorer.......

Lebron has a higher career ppg average at a higher FG% than Kobe AND is a better facilitator and rebounder. Kobe is a great scorer but I don't think he is as complete a player as Lebron who can do pretty much everything.

That said in the 4th quarter with the game on the line I prefer Kobe. He's more aggressive and ruthless whereas Lebron has played passive in key moments for the Heat/Cavs when the situation demanded he be more selfish.

Still, either way you cut it both great players in their own right.

Well Kentucky head coach John Calipari you might of heard of him. Has openly admitted he wanted to take Kobe Bryant in the 96 draft but the owners wouldn't let him. That ties him to Kentucky just a little bit.

I have more basketball knowledge in my left pinky than you do in your entire brain. Frustrating to see fans like you who cannot appreciate greatness. Always make me wonder how someone can spout off about a player who has done so much for the game.

Enjoy your day Johnnyboy
I've heard multiple people say the opposite. He chickened out at the last minute when others in the organization wanted to take Kobe. We'll likely never know the truth.

That's a bad thing? I'd say it shows self-awareness to know when to go. We'll see I guess, but I don't think it matters. LeBron's resumè is already better.

I actually think Kobe is a more complete player, but LeBron is more physically imposing. He's a freak athlete, where Kobe is merely elite.

Lebron does possess that innate, Magic Johnson level court vision. You are right about Kobe's killer instinct.

Lebron is more physically gifted. I rank Kobe slightly ahead, pending the outcome of Lebron's career.

If Lebron takes his throne back from Steph and wins 3-4 more titles, he could go down as top 3 all time. Maybe better.

The story is pretty public at this point. Jerry West called Cal and talked him out of drafting Kobe.

Kobe's camp was also threatening to send him to Europe if the Nets (or anyone else, other than the Hornets/Lakers) drafted him.

Cal got antsy and took Kittles. The Bryant contingent celebrated.

This thread just makes me appreciate the fact that I'm a 'casual' NBA observer at best....even more.
