Keshad Johnson visiting Kentucky today

I have a feeling that we get a commitment maybe by tomorrow. I think a lot of good players hit it today and Johnson accepts before losing the offer.

Yeah, I expect a lot of announcements today. And a lot of commitments in the next 7-10 days after that.

Assume this is Johnson but really the first positive roster addition development in a while. UK always made the most sense for Johnson IF he was comfortable being on the other side of the country. If not, Arizona was logical. Should get time at the 4 and some 3 to get near his past 20 MPG on the biggest stage before starting an overseas/G League pro career.

I really like this kids game. Much better post up player than I expected; acutally better in the paint than Oscar. Supposedly a defensive stopper, which we definitely need! Hopefully we will get him.

He's a no-brainer if we can get him. Saying Livingston in year 2 is a better option is just absolutely laughable.

Why is it laughable? I'd take a 2nd-year Livingston over this kid. People like you just move the narrative goalposts depending on what looks favorable. There's no way you'd take Johnson over Livingston is Chris was locked in for another year at Kentucky. Just admit it.

Are there any deadlines on when you HAVE to announce where you're transferring to? Or is this just a wait until classes are about to start?

I’d take a second year Livingston too if he actually would want to be here, but Johnson isn’t a terrible fallback option either

I'd still take Livingston but it's a razor thin margin, this kid is such an elite defender and so versatile, I would absolutely LOVE to land him.

Perfect role/complimentary piece to our NBA studs and Reeves.

Get Reeves and Oscar back, land this kid, and we're COOKING.
Yep! We get BIG O and Reeves back to go with either and I think we are ready for anyone! Excited to watch our Cats in July!

It's the time regarding lack of players, you take who WANTS TO BE HERE out of your options. I don't blame a guy like Chris Livingston for wanting to explore the NBA options for himself and wish him well, he was a good teammate from all accounts and he played his butt off to help get this team to NCAA Tournament when it appeared it was a lost season after 14 games.

That said--when you can get a 6'8 forward who played in National Championship game and had 14 pts and was contributing in variety of ways-you take that everyday of the week. He's a replacement for Jacob Toppin's role but has more winning experience and this program needs it-specifically from the older players on the roster.

Couldn’t agree more! Johnson is a proven winner and has major experience! That would definitely prove beneficial to our young squad.
