A Kentucky man won a $167 Million prize playing the lottery; he bought the ticket from Clark's Pump N'Shop in Georgetown. I drive by it frequently. Congrats, but I would hate to be identified. Not sure I want to ever win that much money, but I would not have to work. I hope he's wise and people leave him alone. We all have heard the horror stories. I would settle for 10 rental properties fully paid, lol.

Nice, but do I really want all that?

Linda Grizzle is splitting a $167.3 million winnings with her son, Shannon Farthing, both of Georgetown.
Farthing bought a $2 Powerball ticket for last Saturday night’s drawing.

Cash option after taxes is about 22 and 1/2 million each. Not sure if they're taking the 30 years or cash option.

167 Million is more than I'll ever need. More headache/trouble than it's worth. It appears that winner has been in some legal trouble in his past, but good on him for winning life changing money.

I would get out of KY with that money. Buy a RV and travel and see all of Canada til fall then head to Florida around Thanksgiving. Wouldn't live in Georgetown with that kinda of money. See British Columbia drive up towards Alaska then cut across to Montreal. Do something with that money before it's gone in 2 years.

I’d buy 4 houses with cash and live where the weather was perfect year round. He’ll blow it at the track, strip bars and river boats, though.

The vast majority of large lottery winners say that it was the worst thing that ever happened to them.

Yep. I would invest in real estate (good to have hard assets), but I don't really need that much. I do not see myself buying a mansion and a bunch of cars, but I am fairly simple. I would still work, but on my terms. I would definitely live in a warmer climate during the winter, though.

The best thing for him would be to hook up with reputable, licensed financial planner.

Sounds like he may blow it all at red mile. In interview he did, I think he said he was at red mile casino when his mom called and told him he won. That’s quite the rap sheet above he has. Shows he’s on parole untill August of this year…that doesn’t sound good. All that money can find you a lot of trouble.

Somebody will probably convince him to buy a horse farm to run his own at the races.
