Kansas loses again. Jayhawks have gained ZERO wins on UK in Pope's stopgap season.

I wouldn't trade for KUs last 15 years since Cal got to Kentucky.

I know that the NCAAT is very tough to win. But any way you cut it, Bill Self's has underperformed come March. That's just a fact. And its not just missing the title. It's having a 1 or 2 seed and failing to make so many Final4s

Tho same number of titles and one had much better seasons.

I don't know.

I mean don't get me wrong, I loved 2012, 2015 and a couple of other seasons in this run. it was extremely exciting.

But I'd venture to guess KU fans probably feel the same way about their last 15 years and wouldn't trade it with ours.

Same in titles but only two Final fours, the other one was vacated. That's pretty big to me. I think a Final4 is the next best thing you can achieve in sports outside of winning an actual championship. 4 games, single elimination, in a sport that's extremely volatile.

Cals first 7 years was unprecedented, the amount of winning we did.. and particularly winning in March pretty much covers everything Self has done at Kansas since 2010. Now, Cals downfall was big, and if we want to include that in the equation, I'm fine with that. His recent years certainly diminished his tenure.

But.. there's Self also having a lot of disappointing seasons. Losing to UNI, Stanford, 2nd round exits in 4 of the last 5 tournaments. You just have to be a little better than that in March. No one really cares or remembers conference play.

Incorrect. Kentucky was +7 entering the 2024 season. Both teams finished the year with 23 wins and have the same amount of wins this season so +7.

Wins since 1-18-25
Kansas (6) TCU, UCF. OSU, Iowa State, Colorado twice
Kentucky (5) Tennesee twice, Vandy, Oklahoma, South Carolina

Total to date
UK 2417
KU 2412

Dajuan Harris has to be maddening. I now he was apart of their championship.. but FIVE years at Kansas now, more inneficient scoring as his career went on, and could never once for one year average double digits points. He's about as mid as you can get. The type of player I wish Kansas had forever, but they will almost for sure get an upgrade over him.

He reminds me of Wheeler. Like looks good sometimes. Appears he could lead you all the way but is overall as mid as it gets. The issue with Kansas is AJ Storr going from stud to looking like he can’t even play D1, KJ Adams can’t shoot, and he’s surround by mid shooters like Harris and Dickenson who is pure post.

i respect houston’s defense and going crazy for rebounds, the mentality and all that. i just can’t ever project a team like theirs to win it in march. they score 65 every game and win by no more than 3 possessions on the regular.

impressive, but in the tournament 65 points is just not enough. some lesser school gets hot for 5 minutes and it’s basically over. houston does not run good offense. they take a lot of hard shots. they just continually make them in possession games. that’s hard to do in march six straight games.
