Jarren Williams de commits

did not say he was a Running QB just that he is not the typical Pocket Style - Williams is listed as "dual threat" on 247 http://247sports.com/Player/Jarren-Williams-89426 and Rivals https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/168700 - this new kid Doyle http://247sports.com/Player/Kevin-Doyle-84688

https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/1870 is not listed as a Dual Threat....so I went with that as the "style" Hinshaw went with after de-commit of Williams

only time I mentioned run was "run oriented offense 1st" - not inferring running QB
We are splitting hairs lol.

Did anyone notice Jones starring in the Bama spring game.

Me either, but I did notice the true soph that was the SEC's MVP and the five star #1 rated QB true freshman looking pretty good.

When will they ever learn, when will they eeeerveeer learn.

Not so fast.

New development, and I am not too worried in any case, we are in good shape for the next few years IMO and might end up doing even better than him after the dust settles. It is his life.

Yea, when I hear that I tend to think that's someone looking for a crutch to justify doing something that they know may not be viewed by some as the right thing to do. I mean seriously can anyone be so naive to think God is interested in making recruiting decisions for student athletes?

To be clear, I want people praying and praying for decisions in their lives, but the implication is that God is leading his choice. If he said prayer convicted him that he was not being honest or that his prayers were ones of thanks for the opportunities before him, it would have resonated better with me. This is probably about my filter more than anything. Like you suggest, it reads more like a crutch or a marketing statement. Pray. I am just not sure you have to say your reason for decommitting is the result of prayer.

Williams seems like a good kid and a phenomenal talent. I think these things are more template comments.

Jalen Hurts is not the problem for Mac Jones. Jones will redshirt, putting 2 years of separation between Hurts and himself. Jones will have other guys there to contend with. If he wants to play for Bama, it's his decision and he made it. So that ship has sailed. I will be honest, I would rather have Danny Clark. Jones strikes me as a high floor kind of quarterback, right for Bama's system. I think Clark has the higher ceiling, but he needs development. Coach Hinshaw will provide that. If Clark pans out, he is possibly an all SEC talent. And if he doesn't pan out, we still have Barker, Hoak, and whoever Coach Hinshaw brings in the next class.

I like the Clark story much more than Jones. Clark is going to prove something as a collegian. Jones probably thinks he proved something as a prep, just by landing that Bama offer.
