Tha't's 3 IU players gone. JBJ, Anunoby and Bryant.

Oh well, UK's not for everyone!

Good luck to Blackmon! He'll have to be a sharpshooter to get minutes.

3 NBA guys and miss the tourney. Just how awful of a coach was Crean?

Doubtful that he gets drafted or ever plays in the NBA. They were ranked nearly the same, Booker chose UK, Blackmon chose IU.

Great post!

I was coming to post this exact same thing. If Blackman comes to UK, there is a very high likelihood not only did he go in the first round, but he also would have been a one and done.

Booker is an exceptional athlete. Tested off the charts in the NBA protocol ( I believe he broke the cone drill record) JBJ is a good shooter but excels at little else. Also, he is smaller than Booker,He is not the athlete that Booker (or Monk) is. The market for 6'2" shooting guards who can't defend is quite small.. He is Joe Crawford re-incarnate. He will enjoy playing in Israel.

After your comments about Knox not coming here, id think you'd slow down on the hot takes.

"Wrong" about one issue so he's not allowed to give his opinion on another issue? Good grief, man, give it a rest. It's a message board and thus all about giving opinions on various topics. By your logic, only Jesus--through his divine perfection--would be allowed to give an opinion.

Having an opinion is one thing, calling people who actually made the correct prediction "doofus", "retard", and mocking "trusting Cal" is cause to get made fun of. I highly doubt Jesus called anyone of Rafters a retard.

And if your stance is "it's a message board", why are you crying about my message? Seems hypocritical.

Probably why IU fired Crean when they did. They are going to be pretty bad for a year or two, not quite as bad as when Crean took over, but low-end NIT bad. We will get to hear for 2 years how Archie is starting to get some players and is building the program the right way. Prepare for the rhetoric by IU fans as they are at least 2 years away from relevance.

In my opinion this situation it would have been far less static and pushback if the poster had remembered the distinction between opinion and fact when the opinion was being rendered. Instead it treated as unassailable fact and only softened down to opinion once the opinion was proven not to bear out.

If one wants to be treated as only giving an opinion then the absolute certitude and mocking based on that certitude needs to be dialed back otherwise you earn the incoming fire.

At minimum, if one cannot take heat then they ought to refrain from dishing it out in Zeus from Mount Olympus fashion.

You really think this is a bad take? We know he won't be drafted in the firsr round and the second round, who knows.
I'll never be shocked by anything some of these crazy/desperate NBA gms will do. It will only take one GM to think JBJ is the next Steph Curry to draft him. Worse nba ready players than Blackmon have been drafted (darko, jimmer, Anthony Bennett).

You've been a member here for 2 whole months. Do like the rest of us did and earn your respect. Stay in your lane.
Longevity is not gonna make me respect anyone who calls people "retards". You stay in your lane. How bout dat?

NBA will always take flyers on bigs moreso than 6ft nothing guards. Jimmer was a crazy good college player, while JBJ was merely good. Anway fuq iu

Just think several years back Mitch would have taken Crean over Cal just as he took Billy over Cal. I'm not sure I want Mitch in a position to chose Cal's replacement if he leaves.

His knee injuries took their toll on him. The guy couldn't guard a chair. His niche is that he can really shoot. His only chance to make it for a while in the NBA is getting on a team of studs so they can hide his defensive liability. There's still some talent at IU that Crean just didn't use correctly. I'm not saying IU will be great but they'll be better than people think and easily make the tourney and probably win a game or two. Archie will bring in a really good class next year and in 19. His 3rd year is when he'll have IU back as a consistent top 15 team

Ummm, of those three, I see OG as the only one drafted. Maybe Bryant. JBJ will not see an NBA locker room. Overseas.

You would be correct, sir. Bryant may get drafted but he'll spend most of the year in the D league and possibly his career or over seas. He's just not athletic enough to be a 4 or big enough to be a good 5. So he's screwed. Blackmon's torn ACL's screwed him. I just realized you're an IU fan. So you know everything I just said already. You with me on thinking IU will be better than what people think or you think that they'll be pitiful?

As I said earlier, Blackmon will have to be a sharpshooter to have a NBA career of any length.

I think we will better than what people think. Still have a good amount of talent returning in Johnson, Davis, Green, Morgan and Newkirk. Solid newcomers in Justin Smith(4*) and Clifton Moore(IMO a very underrated kid). Not to mention getting Colin Hartman back. I think IU's a tourney team next year. Look for exponential improvement on defense.

That's what I was thinking. No more solution to every problem being...just play faster. And finally run something in the half court other than the weave n heave! Haha man I hated Crean
