Saw a commercial for the Special Forces today and it talked about how in the 1930's the Chicago Tribune wrote articles about how lazy the young people of the time were. These youngsters they wrote about were the very same ones who later fought in WWII and were later labeled the greatest generation. The commercial eluded to the article and how people of today have said the same about the youngsters of today and how they too could surprise everyone by stepping up and showing who they are. It got me to thinking about the mindset of those then and the ones now.
Wokeness in the military today is generally opposite of the type of people you need to be warfighters. Woke people are all about themselves and are the most unpatriotic people out there. With them, It is usually me, me, me. By that I mean, see me, celebrate me, give me what I want. No selfless service mentality you need to be in the military imo, just recognize who we are or else we will complain and revolt.
