IU is going to be waaaayyy better than expected.....

I disagree. After the Davis, Sampson and Clappy years, IU fans simply want to watch good basketball again. Archie, zero doubt in my mind, is going to provide that. As for how long IU fans will give him.....all I can say is; they gave Clappy 9 years when he should have gotten 3.

Nobody is expecting Archie to walk in and start winning with the UK's, Duke's, UNC's anytime soon. Is it possible he gets there? I definitely believe it's possible but we'll see how it plays out.

Archie's brand of basketball is going to make IU consistently competitive with the big boys again. Not saying it's going to happen overnight, but I will promise you this: The Crean years of; "good one year, shitty the next three" is gone forever.
I'm not taking shots at you, I'm really not, but it's a little over zealous to guarantee that. He wasn't consistently good at Dayton. He made 1 little run and flamed out several other times rather quickly. Which leads to my point of IU fans will start making noise and raising the bar before he is ready.

I personally like Archie and wished he had never went to IU for a POSSIBLE future at UK. But I wouldn't go guaranteeing things you expect him to back up just yet.

IU fans have been guaranteeing things for 30 years. Just be happy and let him be the coach and try that for once.

they wish clappy was gone forever. he's lurking right now in some corn field near bloomington waiting to pounce on a farm boy. you don't just get rid of someone like this. it ends with the fbi showing up a little late and a raped and murdered barbershop quartet.

Archie isn't Crean.

You know it and I know it.

One big difference you'll see right away, IU will defend.

Haven't seen a Crean team play defense in 9 years.

Crean was a used car salesman. Any IU EVER fired up by Tom Crean's hiring was/is a mook. Nothing more.

Like I said ; jury is still out. But I don't see any reason why Archie can't have IU as a solid tournament/ S16 type team in a couple years

This- Archie could
Very well be a solid coach. He could be great. But again... he had a nice little 1 year run at Dayton and that's about it really

He is landing players that many on this board want to go after so that they stick around for 4 years. If he can mix in a 5 star or two, they will have a solid class. Hate IU as much as the next guy, but that is a pretty nice 24 hour span for them.
If Cal had these 3 guys committed, ranked from 60-87 at best I have seen, we would be yelling WTF..If K or Self had them committed we would be ROFLMAO, yet we say Archie is on the right track. Um no!

Archie, being at Dayton, obviously lacked talent.

I believe the tallest player he had on team that had the nice little 1 year run was 6'6".

He'll get far better players at IU. Doubt he'll be recruiting like Cal or his brother anytime soon, but Archie will get far, far better players at IU.

This is my point.

Being born and raised in Dayton and still living here, the Flyers are the only other team I openly root for besides UK. That run was incredible considering the lack of height, depth and overall talent.

That being said, I hope I'm wrong. I want Indiana to lose every game they play lol

Will he kiss him in the mouth before he turns the farm boy into a skin suit?!?!

EXACTLY.

As an IU fan, when I would come over here and read posts making fun of Clappy the Clown, all I could do was laugh.

Crean was simply absolutely horrible and it was embarrassing to have him as our coach. He deserved every ounce of ridicule he received. I just hate the used car salesman with every bone in my body.

Archie is a stud. Not predicting a run of Final Fours obviously like what you guys have enjoyed under Calipari, but IU is going to be consistently very good again under Arch.

No doubt in my mind.
the whosears could win back to back titles and the town and fans would all still SUCK
