Is Oweh’s return less likely ?

No, I’m basing it on my own opinion. We used to call this a “gut feeling” before we could find a source to substantiate anything on the internet.
Lol. So your opinion matters more than those that actually pick the picks and feed the info to the draft analysts. Makes total sense.

Shedeur Sanders thought he was going #1 and went fifth round. Do mock drafts really mean anything? It’s like whoever they have winning the championship before the season starts. Means nothing
So you just cherry picked one scenario over a lot of years of drafts in another sport? And that guy DROPPED, not raised. And if people REALLY thought Sanders was going in the first round...Don't you think he'd have been in Green Bay? His camp knew. Why? They'd been told. And Sanders drop had as much or more to do with the circus that surrounds him than anything. That's a whole lot of words to say your "evidence" is garbage. I'm going to also assume you just know JQ will be cleared in October because his dad says so?

Said from the beginning Oweh won’t be back. To the ones saying he doesn’t have a chance yall are absolutely crazy. If he comes back that’s just a bonus. To good to be true imo. Would be to loaded.
I've got some wonderful news for you about an upcoming bonus you're going to receive shortly.

The talk has always been the only way Oweh stays in draft is if he gets a 1st round guarantee.

I’ve actually been one to think JQ won’t be much of a contributor. If he gets healthy in time to make a difference awesome.

You do realize he will make more money at UK and he will probably find himself in a better draft position in 2026 than he will get in 2025, right?

He likely comes back. I want him back. I’m just saying he is talented enough to be in the nba and will probably have a long nba career as a role player. That all I’m saying is if his dream is to be in the nba then he can probably make that happen this year or wait and try to improve. He is talented enough even tho most of yall act like he is a scrub.

Only first rounders have a guaranteed contract and the last pick of the first round made 2.07 million last year. That is significantly less than what he would make here. So unless he is at least guaranteed by a team to be a top 20 pick I don't see him going. With that said I think his outside shot needs work as does his finishing around the rim before any team would make that promise to him.
There are often 2nd round guys that get guarantees as well, it just isn't automatic.

I'm pretty sure Ulis got such a deal.

Most guys his size (6’3-ish) are PGs in the NBA.

Oweh is not a PG.

If they are SG’s, they usually shoot the lights out.

Oweh does not shoot the lights out.

I don’t see that he does anything that would put him on the NBA radar.

He is one heck of a college player, though.

usually when someone is in real need of money its the family in need of money and if the family was desperate the brother would provide. But its all moot because Oweh will make more at UK than he'd make as a late second rounder/undrafted player.
In the micro he would. Even though it’s nowhere near what’s reported here.

But he’s almost done with college. He has to start looking at the macro.

If he can get a second round contract he would be foolish to pass it up.

I don’t believe he will get one.

As far as NIL money, it’s endorsements. He can get endorsement money in the league too.

It’s not an either/or situation.

Plays for the Suns, G League mostly.

2.2 pts. 1 board, 1 assist on the year 31% from the field( ouch).

And he went 29th overall.

Not sure if the other poster is trying to say because tyty has semi stuck around OO will too. Idk but not close to the same draft spot money wise.

Yeah I clarified in a later post that I meant only first rounders get a mandated guaranteed contract and 2nd rounders it's optional.
And 1st rounders get a 3 yr contract. Guaranteed. Not just the one. And a raise every year.

No NIL is worth giving up that 3 year guarantee.

When they can still get the endorsements on top

I thought I read somewhere that Oweh said he will be back unless he gets a 1st round guarantee? I would also think that he would know by now that he isn't going first round unless he absolutely crushes it at UK this upcoming year while also proving he can shoot over 40% from 3. Lots of guys just want to go through the process of being evaluated.

Plan on him not coming back, so, when and if he returns it is a bonus and everyone feels great. Plan for the worst

He’s talented enough to make the NBA, but it most likely won't be a long career unless he finds himself in the perfect situation up there. He's the perfect college stud, but his game really doesn't translate to the NBA. You can find guards has size anywhere, the difference is, there are so many that shoot and finish better than OO does.

If he got a guaranteed 2nd round deal, yes, but if he jumps too soon, he could find himself in the same place the Harrison twins are, but the Harrison twins left when bigtime college money wasn't a thing. In order for OO to jump, he will need to pass up a heck of a bag at UK. It's quite a risk and I don't see OO getting that kind of a deal in the NBA, but, I've seen stranger things happen.

I don’t think anyone will give him a guaranteed 2nd round deal. And there’s no chance he goes 1st round.

But NBA teams have done dumber things.

He’s not going to improve his draft standing by returning to college either.

So he should take the most money now. That would be at UK.

I don't think any mock drafts have Oweh as a first rounder so I don't understand your point?

You were saying what a first round pick made in the first year being less than what’s reported his NIL would be.

Which is probably correct. But you weren’t taking into account that the first round gets a 3 year guarantee.

But again if he isn't a first rounder then there is no CBA mandated 3 year guaranteed contract. Could he get a 3 year guarantee from a team in the 2nd round? Sure but he will need to prove he can shoot and finish at the rim better, leading into the draft, than he showed all season.

Yeah I agree. But, it is possible he could improve his draft stock. Walter Clayton did. If Oweh has a season like Clayton did, he will most definitely get a better deal.

I believe he will be back .

But I can’t say I’m as confident about it as i was a month ago . What he said is probably the smart thing to say since he did enter his name .
