Is Cade Cunningham Back On The Table? OSU Given Post-Season Ban

After bringing in the senior Mintz to go along with Askew, I don’t think Cal will sign another point guard. Someone wouldn’t be eating, and while Cal doesn’t promise starting spots, both guys are assuming major roles next year, and committed for that reason.
Also what i believe

There’s room for Cunningham.

Minutes per game estimate:

G Cunningham(25)/Mintz(15)
G Clarke(10)/Askew(20)/Mintz(5)/Allen(5)
G Boston(25)/Clarke(15)
F Brooks(25)/Ware(10)/Fletcher(5)
F Sarr(25)/Jackson(15)

Cunningham- 25
Clarke- 25
Boston- 25
Brooks- 25
Sarr- 25
Mintz- 20
Askew- 20
Jackson- 15
Ware- 10
Allen- 5
Fletcher- 5

Allen and Fletcher will likely fall out of the rotation by SEC play, opening up more minutes for the top 6-7 as well.

You don’t turn this guy away, unless he has attitude issues or is asking for a payday. You put him in there and make it work, IMHO.

He was the best player in HS last year and a future lottery pick.

I'm sorry but if Cunningham comes.... he's getting 30 mpg ... so will Clarke and Boston

Mintz will also get at least 20 mpg. What would end up happening is that Allen would have to be a stud to get decent minutes and most likely, he , Ware, and Fletcher will be getting minutes only in case of foul trouble or blow outs.

Just my opinion but knowing how good Cunningham is and how Cal is, he'll get every minute he can unless there is foul trouble.

In this situation if Fletcher, Ware, and or Allen are good enough to get minutes from the big 3 if Cade comes.... OHHHHHH BOY... then our team would be just insane.

This was just an estimate on time. Allen and Fletcher would lose minutes as the season progresses. Ware and Jackson probably as well as we will sometimes go small ball.

By the end of the season, Cunningham, Clarke, and Boston will all be at 30 per game.

Cunningham, Clarke, Boston, Brooks, Sarr, Mintz, Askew, and Jackson will be the main rotation guys to end the season.

If he is clean (no $) id take him. He is too good not to take. Without him (assuming saar eligible) we are a top 5 contender. With him we are the top contender. Other than cv2021.

Why would he not want the best possible chance to win the championship and at the same time get best prepared to be successful in the pro's? Unless one of his people just don't want him here there is no arguing that.

Jeez I had actually forgotten about Jackson .......... if we somehow won the lottery and got Cade..... we'd just be so freakin stacked .

Sure....OG Anunoby was another..A 3*. If not for getting injured, dude was a lottery pick. Even then---He was a 1st rounder(23rdpick)...

Even though Bryant was highly regarded, I think he had "motor issues"...Lazy. I felt Crean did a nice job getting that kid to play to his potential...I think it had a ton to do with him even getting drafted.

Yogi and Troy Williams.

I always felt Crean did a nice job with maximizing his wings/guards.

Edit: As for going hard on games days....I obviously cannot speak for other coaches...Though I do know some who felt it was odd to go full boar, 100%, 6 hours before a game...
Well, like I said, there are a ton of coaches that have had lower ranked kids develop and become a diamond in the rough. If the kid works has ass off and he has length and athletesism, you have the ingredients for that to happen.

Nobody thought Shai Alexander and Tyler Herro would go lottery after 1 season at UK, but they did. But those guys put in a ton of work in their own time in addition to the workouts the UK coaches put them through to get there.

On the gameday workout issue, that was a hot topic during the Billy Gillispie years, he ran those teams extremely hard during game days. It showed too. That loss in Rupp to Gardner Webb was ridiculous. Our guys' tongues were dragging the court before the game even tipped. Some of our fans didn't think the pre game workouts had anything to do with it, because everybody does it.

I can understand having a light run through, but apparently hard workouts are a thing.

I'm not promoting Crean as some great developer of talent...But, I mean, fair IS fair...Oladipo was a 3* that absolutely no one wanted---including Maryland. Dude becomes the 2nd pick. IMO, guys like him, wll, its a combo of good coaching(fundamentals), and hard work.

FTR---I think gameday, full-workouts, are stupid. IMO, waaay to much risk. Have your film session----walk-through---get the kids hydrated---rest...

Go win a basketball game.

I think Crean is a perfect assistant coach.. like one you'd pay over a million a year for. His offensive coaching is excellent but his head coaching skills not so much.

and to be nice to Miller, the way he took players who couldnt hit the ocean year before last, and made them into good shooters or at least decent was impressive. Its one thing I wish our staff here was better at doing

Man that is SPOT ON with Crean...Offensively, his teams were really good(at Indiana). No doubt he's the type of dude you pay big asst. coach bucks to, and hand him the reigns to the offense. Dude is a geek with details...fundamentals..I was highly impressed with those attributes when I was at IU scrimmages/pracitces.

I like Miller a lot. He's been a bit snake bitten in his first few seasons...Al Durham has improved greatly under Miller with his shooting...I like how Miller is doing things--I do.

Remember how that coach put the pic up with a check mate on it ? Someone needs to tweet taht to him cause he was a frickin ignorant coach! It's like a college player beating a pro player and then bragging like he can do it all the time!! Like penny beat cal once at recruiting and it wont happen again!

Cal would never let crean come in and change it around with his offensive system....I wish he would just hire a shooting coach!

This is all wrong. No way Cisse isn’t getting minutes in the rotation.

I'm not a drinker, myself, but I will say I think day drinking is only acceptable at tailgates. Have a good day.
I have not had a drink in over seven years. Now I do take drugs every day.

P.S. Thanks for caring.

P.P.S I got your threads mix up, sorry.
