Is Cade Cunningham Back On The Table? OSU Given Post-Season Ban

My prediction is Cade ends up at UK, Sarr is eligible, Brooks makes major improvements as an inside outside threat, Boston and Clark are even better than advertised, and the season is canceled due to a new wave of coronavirus.

Wouldn't bet against any of that...

If what you say is true, he's doing it wrong. If you work your guys that hard, your results should be better.
Its 100% true...And no, not really. You work your guys that hard, it will eventually wear them down. That was a big topic while he was at Indiana. He would have FULL prctices, at times, on GAME DAY. I had the pleasure of officiating some of IU's scrimmages/practices...I was in awe....but also was like---THis dude is crazy.

I probably hate him more than you.. But dude isn't that bad of a coach... If he hadn't went to IU,, wouldn't hate him at all..
He's a prick. But you are right, he's not a bad coach by any means. His offense's are very good. Defensive schemes---not so much. If he were a more consistent recruiter....quit being a damn cheerleader...taught defense...He'd actually be a pretty damn good coach.

But hes a prick. Make no mistake.

This sounds about 100% right!

Cal put a ton of work into Cunningham's recruitment and kept fostering that relationship even when the general consensus was that he was a done deal to OSU.

I'd be very surprised if he picked now to be petty and turn down the top recruit in the country.

We have a long way to go before we get to that point though.

It would be neat seeing that type of size and talent trotting out on the floor. Seeing how teams would combat that overall size and ability. Even if he comes Mintz a very key figure any way you cut it. Most of our guys just usually want to win. That type of talent and talented depth would break most, if not all teams. Could finally enjoy a few blowouts.

His teams always came out of the locker room ready to just through a brick wall. He energized his players with Knute Rockne ttype motivational pre game speeches. The first 7 or 8 minutes was always Indiana leading than after that, it started going flat. The adreanaline wore off amd Crean’s coaching took over.

After bringing in the senior Mintz to go along with Askew, I don’t think Cal will sign another point guard. Someone wouldn’t be eating, and while Cal doesn’t promise starting spots, both guys are assuming major roles next year, and committed for that reason.

The one wild card is Askew's shooting ability. Askew's first year could be in a Quickley role as a shooter with his role eventually emerging as a 1. Would open up the one for Cunningham and Mintz. Would make the refs job so much harder in being a factor. Another big would impact a little more IMO. Just getting another 7 footer type that can defend and block shots to me would be just way too much for anyone to do anything about. With Sarr and Jackson, already a good one two punch. But to have that extra big and be able to play Sarr and Jackson together some would be overwhelming not only for who we play but the refs also.

You may be right but I have to believe if Cal thinks he can make what is already a really good team even better, he’s going to do it. You only get so many chances at a title. Adding Cunningham along with Sarr being eligible would easily make UK the front runners.

I want to believe so badly lol, but I refuse to give this one ounce of hope

LOL at talking about something that has zero chance of happening . And I am talking Cal even entertaining the idea of contacting Cade. Bridge has been burned. Either he stays at OK st or goes pro in some way. Bet it is the later.

Also to say that adding Cade now is for the best for the team completely is wrong and shows people don't understand the nuance of team building . It isn't about just having talent. It is about talent with chemistry and make up. Why do you think Cal ended up not wanting Deandre Williams ? We had plenty of guys like him and they CHOSE UK and deserve a chance. Our team is set .Most talented one we have had since 2015.

Wiseman—> UK = lock!

whitney WILL be our best player, drafted in the lottery and is the reason why Keldon is declaring for the draft as he knows he’ll be backing him up.

McDaniels AND Blackshear= UK lock!

LOL @ the dude who made such guaranteed predictions while making fun of and mocking others who disagreed.

Well nobody is talking about the dangers of Covid right now, even with thousands of people gathering in close quarters. Weird right?

Let either out of his LOI if he wants to go.

It would be complete negligence to pass on the top player in the country for two guys who haven't played a second for us yet.

This isn't a returning player who earned his spot. They haven't even started practicing or reported to campus yet.

I just don’t see Cal doing that. I agree and hope he would, though

I can't imagine how someone that's been wrong about pretty much everything still thinks anyone would pay attention to him . He's ridiculous .

Lmao honestly now I expect this.

They moved on to their new favorite topic.

KSR said the other day the Lex health department said they just had their biggest day of new cases yet. I have a feeling cases will go up in the next couple weeks.

No you don’t sit down and do anything. You take him and let everyone fight it out for minutes. This isn’t some 12 year old select league. If someone gets upset then there’s the door. You either go all in for Cade or you don’t.
That’s fine, but that's not how I would do it and I don't think Cal runs the ship that way.
It's hard enough to meld a new coup of guys every year, doing this the way you're saying, would not be the best course of action if you want things to go smoothly and if you want future recruits to trust you.

That is actually how he does it. He doesn’t discuss players feelings before he takes a recruit. He recruits the best players he can get. His entire time at UK has been recruiting one over the next. This wouldn’t be some late add either. Usually cal is looking to add to his roster at this time. Couple that with the fact there really is no team yet. What has changed since he recruitied CC anyway?? We added mintz and that’s it. Lost 2 players that when he was recruiting CC we didn’t think we would in quickley and juzang. Nothing’s changed and there’s no need to discuss anything with anyone other than the coaching staff.

I always thought most coaches ran their guys hard on game days at least through most of the season.

Cal does it, if he didn't take advantage of every second of available practice time, there would be no way his young teams would put it together before March.

You brought up his development of guys like Victor Oladipo to prove your point, but can't we name at least 1 or 2 players for every coach in the country that has shown great development under their watch?

I need the Rosetta Stone to even decipher this. So, again, I don't want him, I'm not lying, and you have no facts, because there cannot be "facts" associated with someone else's feelings. You are dying on a stupid hill

I would totally agree except for the fact we have Covid-19 flooding the atmosphere.
Not only can the federal government close us down again, but our players could get very sick.

Indiana faded alarmingly fast this year. I was in a coffee shop with a TV and Indiana was on. They were winning by 5 at home with about 2 minutes left and the announcers were saying they were going to make the tournament. They somehow lost that game, and then the next few. Not sure what happened.

Sure....OG Anunoby was another..A 3*. If not for getting injured, dude was a lottery pick. Even then---He was a 1st rounder(23rdpick)...

Even though Bryant was highly regarded, I think he had "motor issues"...Lazy. I felt Crean did a nice job getting that kid to play to his potential...I think it had a ton to do with him even getting drafted.

Yogi and Troy Williams.

I always felt Crean did a nice job with maximizing his wings/guards.

Edit: As for going hard on games days....I obviously cannot speak for other coaches...Though I do know some who felt it was odd to go full boar, 100%, 6 hours before a game...
