Is Anthony Davis the Celtics' End Game?

He'll have 3 years left on his deal after the season. Why on earth would they trade him then? Especially for a pick, 2 guys who play the same position and won't make them a playoff team, and Horford with his awful contract?

100% this. Lebron took slightly less than the max to go to Miami - by about $15m total, far more than the 2% someone else posted about - and got ripped to shreds by whiny "fans." Apparently, you can only win if you 1) land on a team with a good front office but without another star, 2) never speak, 3) take less than the max and don't announce it 4) get lucky enough that the front office uses the surplus funds correctly, 5) repeatedly fail in the playoffs, getting a bit further each time, 6) breakthrough and win a title, and 6) never speak except to say thanks to fans and God.

What is this 2% you keep talkIng about? I made a toungue and cheek comment about players taking 2 million less on a contract and losing a ship. Most of these guys have greedy people around them pushing them to only care about dollars. It's something a bunch of guys will regret.

Lebron is different. He doesn't need to chase titles, he's a goat, a Jordan type of player. He needs to attract them.

AD is with one of the all time bad franchises and they are not going to spend the money it takes to win. Davis could leave now for a more recognized organization like the Celtics and win with Stevens cementing his legacy. It's not the same as a guy like Lebron who is roster hopping to win. Davis would be totally justified, as long as he found a home and kept it.
