Barnes is 70 and Pitino is 71. I would take Rick all day. He Has numerous final 4’s and a title. Barnes is well Barnes. We don’t have a coach and most of our team is gone. UT has a coach and they are having major defections

Yes it’s a factor. A big one. Pitino is where he needs to be to close out his career in a few years. I don’t want a short term plan. We look stupid even thinking Pitino is an option at this point. Barnes isn’t exactly being courted by everyone either, most likely due to his age.
It is a big factor. Pitino could be the exception, in that if you take him it’s because there aren’t any really good candidates left, and you are betting that in 3-5 years there will be a better oil to pick from. And do he is just that bridge, but still could be successful.
