If Duke lands Barrett, then Zion becomes a must have. The 2018 class needs to be centered around one of the three stud wings: Reddish, Barrett, and Williamson. Since Duke already secured a commitment from Reddish we are in a less favorable spot.
Agreed. Adidas is a much bigger influence in his recruitment than people realize. Zion has a relationship with the Adidas people. Nothing illegal or shady but it has influence. Feels like a Wiggins situation but I hope I'm wrong.

If this is true, you should by definition be able to link to articles where recruits say this. That's what "gone on record" means.
As I've said, Cal has Been using the same approach that he used in 2009. He was able to do it because he was seen as "the guy" for OAD top 5 born ready type of players. He could afford to wait. Cal never thought he'd slide there, but he has.

Check the thread I posted and go from there. Plenty of posters here much more in the know than me who can provide links.
Maybe Cal is starting to really impress on these recruits that UK is NOT for everyone.. We sure are losing a lot of them..I wish he would never utter those words again.

Big difference is Coach Cal encourages guys to go if they are ready and K has shown a tendency to try and get guys to stay.

Not buying that Kansas negatively recruits. Also, I don't think Howard is the recruiter for Quickly or Zion. Believe Roberts or Townsend is.

This . KU fans crack me up. The negative recruiting has hurt them as their recruiting the last few years has fallen off of what it was and they have become transfer U . They get good transfers but you rarely if ever get elite ones as they are in the pros before they could transfer. We all know what KU will do this year - Win the big 12 and lose in the 2nd round of the tourney to a Dayton , Depaul , Western Michigan type school . It is what they do most of the time.

Neither does Duke, but it's well known Capel trashes UK and skews stats to make UK bad for guys that both schools are recruiting and wouldn't know better otherwise.
That's true. You can't beat yourselves in the round of 32.
Cal doesn't need to negatively recruit either but he does. They all do. There's a lot of money on the line for everyone involved. No matter what school you root for you can't be naive enough to believe otherwise.

Except every kid comes out and says UK doesn't negatively recruit. Thanks for admitting your own guilt, though. Odd how recruiting picked up when filthy Capel joined the staff and allowed K to get his hands dirty without having any culpability.
Yea , I don't know what to tell you. Calipari does it too. Parents of players have shared it.
By that logic, is it also odd that people caught up to uk's recruiting efforts once Antigua left Cal's staff and now Cal (a) has to get his hands a little dirtier or (b) has people doing the dirty work that just aren't as good at it as OA?
