There's an extra gap to defend with a QB who can run, but if he ALWAYS runs it off fake action, you lose that advantage.

I just KNEW when he came in at the 5yd line he'd finally give it...but no. Luckily the one time he actually did finally give up the ball it went to Kattus in one of the least "Kentucky-Football Plays" ever!

Initially I was actually a huge fan of the concept. I knew he wasn't bowden but I was thinking, hell if we had a D1 starter running true triple threat rpos where it was like 40/40/20 handoff run pass split it could be a nice change up. But instead it has turned into a poor imitation of bowden with even less trickery, just thankfully one amazing bounce

I get it that he’s an explosive enough athlete that we want to get him some touches, but we need to make it less obvious and have him give to the running back or even occasionally throw the ball on some plays. Having it be 100% a QB run with him on the field like it was today makes things too easy on the defense and takes away most of the advantage he could theoretically give us.

He tried to lose the game in the most UK way possible. He got trucked by that Defender and he put his shoulder right into the ball. Luckily 84 was right there and deserves the game ball for that save!

I told my son, this guy needs to hand off or pitch it one time. Ole Miss knew what was going to happen when he lined up at QB.

I can’t remember many of our Wildcat qbs handing it off much or throwing. Kemp, Bowden etc.

UK might as well put in all TE and run the wildcat with extra blockers. He is trying to get his stats on minimal possessions for himself. He will either pass the ball or run. Not going to hand off.

Put in all your best blockers, run number 2 and then play action to Anderson or Willie Rod, Dingle or Kattus.

Or stop this silly offense.

Well, the last 5+ times Wimsatt took the snap against Ole Miss, they didn't even try to disguise an all-out run blitz. They knew he wasn't going to hand off or pass. If Wimsatt is making a read and the read always tells him to keep the ball, then he's not very good at making the read, imo.

Way I'd complete the OP's title...the entire stadium would have a heart attack (If Wimsatt ever hands off...).

Check out Van Hiles’ breakdown. On the first drive Wimsatt had an easy touchdown on the 1st and goal play if he had ran left, but ran straight into 6 defenders on the right side.

Nah dude had 30 yards left and ran right into all the OM defenders. I think he picks a lane pre snap and goes. No way can you snap the ball and get a read and go where he did if he's worth anything at reading a defense and seeing what's happening.

my view of him while at RU was that he didn't read well and was later confirmed, his option was set presnap so he was just trying to sell it. I'd wager, the same is true here and he knew right where he was going before the snap.

I was told we saw something on the ole miss film that made us think the quarterback keeping the ball would be effective . We worked on it all week . Maybe it accomplished what they wanted but it didn’t seem like much to me .

I'd guess it had a lot to do with only having 2 RBs available
