I wanted to reach 100 pts but Pope showed class in holding the ball as time ran out...

Yeah, I agree. I wanted to hit that hundred, and we easily could have if he had left the first 10 guys remain in the game. And we almost got there anyway. But yeah, having class is more important than hitting a hundred, so I find no fault in him. 😀

Noah and Perry came on, they had one job to do, to reach 100 and they couldn't do that. And we gave up a ton of points, they must have outscored us 15 to 7 the last three minutes.

Just stating reality. Cal always told his players to dribble the clock out when we were ahead too.

The good news is that Pope addressed the end-game lapse during the press conference. He said they have to address being dialed-in during all stages of the game. He was clearly referring to the last four minutes when the cigar men came in.

He wasn't happy. That kind of garbage play affects efficiency numbers and it also affects guys who should be getting those minutes at the end of the game (Almonor, Chandler). If Noah and Perry aren't ready to finish games strongly, they shouldn't be in there.

Would have been a 50 point game had the top ten stayed in. Myself speaking, I would have let the last five on the floor have a little more fun and let them try and get that 100. They left their starters in till 1:06 to go and was able to cut about ten off the lead because of that. One possession at the end is nothing compared to us calling off the dogs with about 4:30 to go and them not till 1:06 to go.

Not that what Pope did is some kind of big deal that bothers me, but my hot take is that I don’t see anything classless about letting the end of the bench get an extra shot or two off at the end of a blowout. Leaving the starters in, full court pressure on defense, fouling to get extra possessions, etc. would be one thing, but I don’t really see who gets hurt by letting one of the kids who barely plays take a crack at making a play instead of ordering to stop playing for the last 30 seconds.

Just pointing out that uk scored 100 and over against 3 other teams.
I'm not sure exactly what that means in terms of class, but I'm also not sure what to do with my hands right now either
