It's rigged or UNC wouldn't be playing for 2 titles two years straight.. Loserville wouldn't have had a chance to play for one this year.. Oh then you have the stripes..
Agree 100%. It's like each ref does that which seems right in his own eyes. Will never change till those at the top want it changed, or they're booted out themselves.
Sometimes I think they're all sleeping in the same bed.
Integrity and accountability are swear words to them.

Let's see, so it is rigged to make unc win. And the best way to do that is to give them a legit 4 seed opponent. Then set them up to play either uk or ucla in the elite eight. Then probably Kansas (except that didn't work out). And you do this with a conspiracy that requires tens of people working in concert to set that 'easy bracket' because anytime you have 10 or 20 folks working on a conspiracy no one ever talks and spills the beans, right? And get with the refs and be certain they know to cheat because that never comes out in public and sends folks to jail. Oh and cheat against the team with the most fans because that will help make more money by eliminating them and getting their fans to stop watching. Of course we all know it is really Vegas pulling the strings because UNC always covers the spread and vegas wants UNC to cover because they make more money that way. Except that isn't how gambling works for casinos. And of course UNC hasn't been covering the spread most often have they? Bottom line, If you really believe it is rigged and that your favorite (whomever that is) can't win then why watch or even pay attention? There must be less miserable ways to enjoy life.

I would not be shocked if our title was helped out....... I remember the officials being more fair to us in the tournament that year than any year i've been alive. I dont think the refs helped us out......simply because Davis was so damn good we didnt need UNCheat type help... But the refs sure as hell didnt go all Higgins or Sirmons on us like they have the other 6 years.
No one can watch this tournament and say with honor and dignity that UNCheat should still be playing.......... the NCAA is literally carrying them to a title. and if for some crazy ass reason Gonzaga plays so well that the refs cant hand UNCheat a title.... then all of their underclassmen come back and the NCAA pushes them as far as they possibly can towards a title next year.

With Mark Emmert in charge, I fully believe the NCAA would use officials to influence game outcomes in favor of certain teams. As long as he is running the show, there will be shenanigans.

Maybe, just maybe, that's a foul at any other point of the game. There was a push, but it was subtle. It's not like he ran over the Oregon player. But that would have sent Oregon to the line with a chance to go to the championship. I know a "foul in the 1st minute is a foul on the last", but that would have went down as one of the worst ticky tack calls of all time.

It's possible they bring bias and grudge into a game." Nope. Impossible. On here. On a local ESPN show where the host said I was delusional and only making excuses for the idiots who threatened Higgins. And today on Game Day, where Davis and Bilas said same...
This is crazy. Makes no difference who wins. Vegas keeps .10 for every dollar bet no matter which side of spread wins or ties. That's how they make their money.
They turned it into a business that only benefits the NBA. Really, NBA ruined amateur athletics.
This will work to our favor once Kentucky kids start to replace Jordan as the monetizable NBA athletes
Let's hope it is rigged for UK to win again soon then. I guess it was rigged for UK in 2012. The NCAA made the PG for UNC get hurt, so KU could beat them and avoid a tighter title game for UK than KU was.
Well prior years mean squat right now because if you have eyes.... you can clearly see the horrible officiating has lead to 3 UNCheat victories this tournament... Does it have to be 6 games of blatant officiating in a row in a NCAA tournament for some people to finally see a pattern?
When you have 25 years of cheating at a school in contention for two titles in two years it isn't the craziest comment ever to think there is bias and favoritism that indeed might go over into the game. Then you see the blatant no calls in favor of that same team. Poor ol morehead coach gets a decision on a five year ban in no time and somehow the NCAA just can't quite decide if unc did anything wrong. Remember that the NCAA decided it was a criminal court against penn state in no time flat.

I wish it was never called, but if you are ever going to call out, then call it after a team chokes away four free throws in the last 6 seconds.

ESPN runs articles with a relative degree of frequency now about how Vegas is "rooting" agaianat certain teams due to the amount of money bet on them.
Vegas may "make" their money on the wager fee, but paying out to winners is a huge cost. One that they prefer not to pay.

Who is rigging it? The NCAA? Vegas? ESPN? Higgins? It seems like a majority of UK fans are willing to say it is "rigged" (either against UK or for UNC or both) but can anyone explain how this rigging occurs?
I get that fans want to blame someone, but why is it more comforting to come up with a conspiracy than just bad officiating or bad luck?

Its a shame that UNCHEATER is even allowed to particpate being under academic fraud. The NCAA is all about the almighty dollar .....Oh but let's talk about Integrity, yea ok...
Something is not right when, UNC can get away with what they have and the NCAA does nothing, Ky and other schools has been punish for less, and then you see some of these calls or non calls not only against Ky but Or last night something is not right..
Money is not just a factor it is the only factor. If you think the refs are all honest you are living a dream.
Been saying this since the beginning of last year. The NCAA knows UNC will not contend again for another 3-4 years. If UNC can win a "clean" title then they can say that there is no need to mess with 93,05,or,09. These next 2 years when UNC won't contend they will face some minor penalties.
This is why is has been allowed to drag out thru last year and this year. Deals were made to allow this group of players to go for a title.
They gave Mitch a juice box, snack pack, and a coloring book and had him sit in the kids room watching cartoons until the NCAA mafia were done doing their "business."
And UK fans tee'd that up, handed that to them on a silver platter.
If Higgins were simply incompetent, there wouldn't be a perception of biased calls because mistakes would be random & eventually balance out. Thus, Higgins has some conscience or perhaps sub conscience bias for either UK or Cal. This was pretty blatant and IMHO, we had a good case and public opinion was on our side until some fans made Higgins a victim.
Now, it's almost impossible to have a serious public conversation (as you just pointed out) without having that thrown in our faces.
BTW - Higgins bias does not require a grand conspiracy going back to the seeding, to crown UNC. It's possible that minus a few calls, UK wins it all. If powers that be cooked up a plan, there were 3 games that nearly busted the plan. Keep in mind that before the loss, our own fans said the south/midwest was the hardest side of the brackets. Pretty shitty conspiracy to stick your darlings on the harder side of the brackets.
Another point...had Ark beat UNC and Duke advanced, we'd have had the same claims, but with Duke being the objective of the conspiracy. Many have said Zaga had a path cut for them to allow Mark Few get his first NC. It's possible to armchair quarterback any number of conspiracies....after the fact.
I don't believe there was a grand plan to hand UNC the title. I do believe Higgins had a bias vs random incompetence and it cost UK the win. Occam's razor - Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected. In other words, the explanation that requires the fewest leaps of faith is usually the correct one.
a tie is actually the worst thing for Vegas because they have to return to both sides of the bet and they don't even get to keep the .10 so they break even but on bets where they pay out to winners they keep the losers money too so that offsets usually. Maybe the Clemson game was one of the exceptions but most bets the spread changes depending how much money is bet each side so that Vegas will almost always pay out the same as they take from the losers and keep the .1

I certainly don't believe college sports is "rigged". I think that's a silly rationalization that some people use when their favorite team loses a closely contested game. However, referees are human, and they make mistakes. And some referees are better at their jobs than others are. Just like all walks of life. Rarely, referees have been corrupt. But that's an anomaly, and it's deeply cynical to spin those exceptions into broad conspiracy theories. The world is not against Kentucky.
To me. NCAA titles are now as meaningful as WWE titles. For two years, UNC**** has been allowed to compete even though they should be on probation. Yes UNC**** had to win but they got the easiest path to the Elite 8 I've ever seen (without any upsets). The stage was set for Duke also but they were just bad enough and overseeded enough that they couldn't carry through. I have 0 respect for the NCAA which is in bed with the cheating UNC**** program. I doubt they ever get punished. In my eyes, I can't see how the NCAA can ever gain back respect. They insist on putting out garbage about "Student Athletes" but that is all a sham when they allow fake classes by UNC*** to win titles to stand. Thomas for Duke should have been found ineligible also. They had the court documents in the lawsuit that should have been enough for a finding but they didn't even touch it.

Keep burying your head in the sand. The NCAA and Emmert can't stand Cal. As long as Cal is here, we won't get a fair shake in seeding or officiating. The NCAA are also not above using tools like Higgins to change game outcomes.

I understand your disappointment, but not your logic. The NCAA is an organization of member schools, including Kentucky. Kentucky helps to run the NCAA. Kentucky was a founding member of the NCAA. If believing in an anti-UK conspiracy helps you to cope with disappointing, competitive losses (which are inevitable in college sports), then you will just have to handle it. But Kentucky has won 8 national championships, and Calipari is a Hall of Fame coach. Those things don't happen if the NCAA is engaged in an anti-Kentucky conspiracy.
