I’m not quitting and others aren’t either. We think differently but we care about the program. Mitch and others put a lot of faith in Cal by giving him that contract and you know they are hoping he gets out of this slump. Honestly, very few people could have guessed that we would hit a slump like this before it happened.

NIL and the portal are why. People that actually understand the game within the school know this. NIL could change how a lot of coaches build rosters moving forward. A lot of schools that built teams the traditional way had success this past tournament.

Cal has brainwashed a portion of the fan base to believe that all success begins and ends with the players and talent. As if coaching or roster management or development or strategy or preparation don't play any part whatsoever.

I wish everyone that doesn't like the program would start a new website where they just bitch about the program, and let actual fans be optimistic, even if cautiously so, about next year. I will cheer for this team regardless of who the coach is and regardless of who the players are. I would hope that most UK fans think similarly. Maybe you and the other 5 fans should start a Cal love site, where you can talk about how awesome he is and Ellen’s brownie recipe and generational poverty. Just let the masses that know basketball and see what is happening continue to point out his many shortcomings.

And, yeah, they do. The guy you and others are demonizing serves only at the pleasure of the University of KY. He is their coach. They can release him tomorrow. They choose not to. So I guess UK can’t manage their own program? They don’t have that ability or right? Let’s cut bait here. If UK doesn’t want him, he won’t be there. He is there.

And until he leaves we won’t win another championship, I would be surprised if he made another Final Four. But, if the University is happy with the state of the program I guess we should be happy as well.

…Kentucky lost to a 15-seed and in the round of 32 with Oscar, lost in the round of 32 with Reeves shooting 1-for-15 or whatever and accomplished nothing with Livingston.

Maybe starting over with a clean slate isn’t the worst case scenario.

Use the NIL money those 3 left on the table to sign some hungry veteran role players to fit in with the stellar freshmen class and roll the dice…

Gotta deal with the BIG problem first and worry about the players later.
