How to talk to our kids about UK’s offense?

A turnaround would be nice. Not faced great defenses yet. Not middle of the pack either so Crod coming back won’t make this a top offense cause too much ground to make up. Feels like wasting Levi’s’ prime. Grateful for promising WRs and TEs.

CRod should definitely help. Teams will have to respect the run more. The first fours games set things up pretty well for teaching a new line and breaking in new receivers. I think we start to see things start to come together after this week. I expect more experimentation this week.

I’d personally feel better about the offense if these numbers came three games into the season vs good defenses but it was against a MAC and a FCS. Maybe Florida is good but also maybe not? See how they do against UT.

Feel invited to bump this thread all season and we can found out together:

-Are three games a valid sample size?
-Will Crod make an appreciable impact such as Top 7 SEC offense?
-Other?

Just showed my kids the bull ripping the cows. They didn’t ask any questions. I don’t understand this thread.

Could start by not cherry picking 3 negatives out of 15 positives

It's obvious the run game and offensive line have been down, tends to happen when a team is down their starting runningback and loses 3 starters from the previous year, but to say Levis' prime is being wasted is asinine and straight up wrong.
Shit man I highlighted individual play did you not read OP? Levis and young WRs have been great. Not cherry picking. But thanks for the time you took to copy and paste all them sexy tweets!

your last paragraph makes it sound like we mostly agree lol. A lot of work on your part to say we 75% agree.

one last time: these numbers have come against a MAC, FCS and UF. I’d expect them all to be higher if UK finish top half. It’s like even with Crod we’ll start getting up to 65mph but we need to get up to 80mph to finish top half.

(I think at this time and would be glad to be wrong)

The original post was just that bad!

My post is the opposite of agreeing that Levis is "being wasted".

"Let's talk to our kids about UK's offense."

Weird attempt to be facetious and dunking on the teams best player with cherry picked stats

Whole lot of effort into editing a post to change the context of what is blatantly stated in the original post

The title is sarcastic. You got other facetious language but missed that one. Talk about cherry picking ;)

I don’t think anyone really needs to talk about sports with their kids. But figured that was obvious tongue in cheek. Guess not!

levis is being wasted if his great individual play is for a bottom tier conf offense. We’ll have to agree to disagree.

you continue to have poor reading skills but it’s okay! Thanks again for embedding all those tweets that backed up my OP! Very helpful.

Bump this thread during the season and one of us will get to dunk on the other non-facetiously!

There was a point this past summer when some acted as if CRod or no CRod would not make much difference. I think that may have been more true with Jefferson. But with CRod out and 2 of the top 3 backups out, the defenses are stacking the box and bringing pressure. CRod would probably loosen some of that up.

They were.... Part of the reason, outside of breaking in all of the new faces, that I think we are experimenting thus far and things will start to turn around. The fumbles come to mind early last year, everybody was thinking instead of playing.

One major difference he'll make is on the pa boots. Edge defenders have to start crashing or crod will just march down the field 5 yards at a time. That will free up the boots which so far have been well defended with disciplined contain

Mizzou was the second game last year, and CRod ran for over 200 yards that game. The offense started last season scoring 45 points, 35 points (Mizzou), 28 points (FCS team and this was bad), and 16 points (SCAR), AND 20 points (Florida). Kentucky would finish 5th in the SEC at 6.4 yards per play.
