A 10pm tip time that (I guess) caters to the four fans that Houston has and CBS rather than the most rabid fanbase in existence?

It is almost like the NCAA wants its product to fail. Might want to have the refs spend four minutes of primetime staring at the monitor to review that decision, Emmert.
They get one of the biggest products on in prime across the country. That's why we always play late games. Don't think Emmert is making the call on game times.

Wow- [laughing] - yes, we had our early conflicts on the board, but all this time, I thought it was when I met you at the Hyatt was when we smoothed it all out.

Sorry, and damn, I try to make an effort to be nice to everyone In person, thought we hit it off. IIRC, I had my 7 (?) year old son with me, so I wasn't in top form to drink hard and bond over the Cats in the 5 minutes that WS introduced us.

Love what you've done and how you've grown up, and hopefully we can have a drink in Minn9apolis. :boxing:

Your post on duke above - just brightened my early morning start to the day out here , 100-cat

And I recall meeting you as well -
I remember that you reminded me of a virtuous action figure type commander ...or successful dentist

I know that we both spoke quickly and spontaneously several ones and that was comforting....you almost- never mind

I think it was the 2009-ish SEC tournament in Atlanta

Would have been the LSU game

Also - later correspondence at either ole miss and/or neydland

I still struggle with linear thought and slowing down my conversation

-What a f*cking hack Dodd is... not only UNC but he left KU on probation.

-Houston is going to pressure us and this team doesn't love that. We need to return the favor and play the same level of D we delivered Saturday.

I'll interupt this post to say -> F*CK Duke!!

-Twitter isn't ruining America, Twitter and Social Media are amazing. People's inability to decipher information is the issue. "Oh, this facebook link from guacamole.newspres/freeyourmind.net on Obama says he's related to Bin Laden and not a US Citizen!!" In fact nothing is ruining America, or the world, the place is pretty great right now. Don't let the media or our President selling doom and gloom change the facts. Famine, deadly disease, infrastructure have all improved exponentially in our lifetime. Address this climate change issue in the next decade or two and our trajectory will continue on a upward path.

-Assuming Washington doesn't play, it's been awhile where we go into a weekend not expecting to win.

-If PJ doesn't play, what a PR mess by Cal. Saying everything was negative, putting hope out there, naming a date for the cast to come off, if that sucker is still on Thursday... it may be best for everyone to leave the state.

-Royals vs ChiSox Saturday at 1:15p. :sunglasses:

-Making smashburgers in 1 pan for 8 people is not an easy task but I've got that shit down.

-The BatCats are f*cking awful. Walk over to the game yesterday to 2-2 game. Pull a guy from the pen who promptly gives up a snowman in the 5th. I think TAMU felt so bad they swung and missed a few to end the misery. Dunno about this Migione cat after last years debacle and being the worst SEC team this year.

While I obviously hope PJ is back, especially for a potential UNC matchup, I still wonder how effective he'd be. Playing UNC for a big man means full sprinting the length of the court for virtually the entire game. Nobody knows the severity of this deal, but the more I think about it the less likely I think that's realistic

PJ is done at Kentucky, gang. Take the week to accept it and heal.

A "source" told me P.J. was out for the entire tournament before the news even came out about the injury. I thought he was full of shit. Now.... :flush:

Still hoping that "source" is full of shit and we see him Friday, but with a NBA dreams and a Dad in his ear, who knows.

-Gulfstream for Florida Derby this weekend. Going to be a great time betting horses and watching UK play at night with my feet in the sand. No suits, no bowties, just shorts and untucked button down for the win.

-Century Cat has, and always will be a P.I.M.P.

-F*** Duke

-How have we not heard more about this Take (Taco) Fall guy? Holy shit that guy is insanely big. Probably has a bigger dong than Wenyon too.

-F*** Duke Again

-F*** College Basketball Officials

-F*** Casts on Feet

My old man thinks we're going to lose to Houston because "we've never had good luck against Houston".

His evidence: our 1965 football team when we turned down a Gator Bowl invite the week before because we thought we'd get a better bowl, and then our first-team AA QB Rick Norton breaks his leg in the Houston game (which we lose), and then follow it with a loss to UT to earn no bowl at all.

That, my friends, is a broken UK football fan - who not even this year's Citrus Bowl win seems to have helped

Kind of ironic, he’d be GI Joe’s “Duke.”

I remember that it felt like a gale force , velvety wall of good will coming at me when I first saw Duke-Century.....

I realized that I probably needed to pay close attention to his questions but they were of a dark and troubling nature at the time
(Had to do with a certain....anomaly...I found near my home ....

But things got good real quick

Cal has done it to himself. He’s been floating that “this is day to day, negative tests” shit because HE KNOWS pj can play but his dad doesn’t want him to. He’s painted himself into a corner with the players first, nba first product he’s been selling kids since 2009. And, if what we are all assuming is correct, I’m pretty pissed at PJ myself. IIRC there was a time that playing for the university of Kentucky in the f*cking NCAA tournament meant something. Good luck in the nba tho peej! Hopefully his foot is healed enough to go to KSBar in April and sell photos of his mug for $80 a pop. BBN!!!!!

- No sport is as affected by officiating as college basketball. Poor calls and no calls change outcomes every night.

- Two Top 20 KenPom teams before the Elite 8? Of course.

- Houston is damn good. We need Herro and Johnson to knock down jumpers or we go home- with or without Washington. In our last two meaningful games, Herro has given us little on offense. I just don’t trust our guys to make shots.

- Sweet 16 is finally giving us some good games and I for one am happy we’re the last game of the first session. At least I can enjoy basketball a little more if we end up losing.

I just don't think P.J. is playing again. I think he genuinely wants to, but my "smart fan" instincts are telling me he really shouldn't and - ultimately - won't.

-This. I don't see this team as anything less than a bunch of dudes who generally care and play for one another. If he can't go, he really can't go. But I don't question his desire to play.

-The issue with Friday's game isn't whether we can beat Houston's team without PJ, it's whether we can beat Kelvin Sampson without PJ. He's arguably one of the best tacticians left in the tournament. He'll know exactly how to exploit Washington's absence. Toss-up, IMO.

-Just listened to Matthew Hurt's interview from the McD's AA practice. That kid isn't coming here. Talked about his visit and said there wasn't much of a crowd here. I can't remember what game he attended, but hey Matthew, even when our attendance is "off", we still have 20k here, which is more than any of the other teams on your list.

-Somehow I do think McDaniels comes here, and I think we pull either a grad transfer or a decommitment from somewhere(like a kid leaving due to a coaching change, etc.). I can't see any reclassify options that would genuinely help next season.

-Everyone says they want Cinderella runs in the tournament, but all they really want is a few big upsets in the first round. From then on, we want sluggers.

If you are reading the tea leaves on PJ Washington, just how Matt Jones toes the company line today will be interesting.

Houston plays slow and are 5th in the country in 2 point FG % defense. It’ll be a close, low scoring, heart-stopping slogfest with each team trying to out-grind the other one.

Buckle up.

-Rack, KL and UCL on PJ. If a specialist put a cast on his foot, it's not him(or his dad) electing to sit out.

-IU shoulda kept Sampson. TS. edit, he received a show cause. Sucks for them.

-McDaniels will end up at Washington and we'll grab Todd.

Yeah this kid has Duke written all over him.

-dinner party last friday: carrot/ginger soup. Brussels. Burgundy shrooms. Roast whole tenderloin. I love cooking for folks. Cathartic.

-trip to Newport aquarium yesterday morning for primas internship orientation...only to find it had been cancelled by director due to family emergency. Had some nice father/daughter time to and fro. Lemonade.

-may be in the minority but ncaa basketball ends the *moment* my Kates play their last game.

-leaving for Charleston/spring break this weekend. The Rudd's need a week off. Done it before but rec's are always appreciated.

Caviar & Bananas - Nice lil gourmet marketplace off King Street. Busy but a good place for some respite if you're down that way pounding pavement.

Gaulart & Maliclet - Small lil french restaurant (very quick and casual) near Broad & King. Dope food.

The Cocktail Club - Cool lounge/speakeasy on King Street. Great drinks.

Obstinate Daughter - Fantastic dinner on Sullivans Island.

The Boathouse - Nice family restaurant on IOP at Breach Inlet. Not too touristy. Unbeatable sunsets over the marsh.

Palmetto Brewing Co. - Awesome beers. Cool spot to hang out.

Enjoy. We're headed to Naples but wish we were going to Lowcountry instead.
