Not seeing the Cal blame here. The turnovers and two shitty calls on Travis sealed our fate. UT had to play it perfect even with that, and they did.

I agree. Sitting on timeouts when we were melting down is what he has always done. Glad we hat 2 timeouts to call the last few seconds while losing.

I’m in the same boat.
Before Bone made the free throws to put UT up 4, we had 5 offensive possessions. Two of them resulted in careless turnovers. Herro failed to proper catch a pass for crying out loud. Washington scored a layup and a put back on two of the possessions, and he missed two shots at the rim on the last possession.
We got good shots in every possession that didn’t result in a turnover. If the turnovers were shot clock violations instead, we probably win the game.
The main coaching critique I could think of would be telling the guys not to help on drivers at all, risking layups. That’s hindsight though because I know that UT went 3/4 from deep

at this f*cking league. How many games is UK going to live in the paint, dominate points in the paint while their opponents jack 3s, but shoot less FTs? The officiating in this league is a joke. Probably no small part of why UK tends to be more successful in the NCAA-T than in its own league....
- It really only took 4 bullshit fouls against UK to change this game completely. The two against PJ in the 1H, and the last two against Travis in the 2H. The block call against Travis sending Williams to the FT was criminally bad, especially when the slot referee was about to call a charge. If he doesn't bitch-up and swallow his whistle, it becomes a "blarge," and goes to UK on the possession arrow.
- Nick and EJ with two big lapses down the stretch. First, Nick over-helping leaving Williams wide-open for a 3 to give UT the lead, then EJ not grabbing a rebound after a Schofield miss after we go up 1, 75-74. They didn't have *bad* games, but their lapses are too costly in a close game.
- Keldon Johnson needs to bottle his game in the 2H and keep it up through the tournament.
- Tough game for Herro, especially when it took the refs about 30min to start calling the off-ball holding.
- Ashton Hagans with 12 assists to 3 turns is ridiculous. Not really sure if he could play much better.
- Is the silver-lining in this loss a 2-seed in the West opposite Gonzaga? I can see us falling behind Sparty/UNC, Michigan, and UT on the 2-seed line.

Be nice to get a final 4 run but this team does not have “it”. That was a spooky last 3 minutes.
Don Daily was *worse* than Shows. Called our game @ UT as well.
Gotta love how Williams is so much smarter than the SEC refs. Sells them on 5-7 calls a game.
