Honestly if I’m down 1, I score as soon as I get a good look.
I’m not real sure what Cal was going for there, however. Inbounds to Reed then pass to Rob to let him do whatever. Nothing overly complex. You could have gotten that same look at any point. It’s whatever.

And they took 20 layups. One Coach did something to attempt to cool a player that was hot and one Coach just kept doing the same thing on D. I’ll let you decide which was which.

15 point 2nd half lead. We've had the lead in the 2nd half in 7 of 8 losses. Descent coaches don't do that. Unacceptable.

Those have been an embarrassment. It’s truly embarrassing that our rivals get more joy out of watching us than we do.
We have a roster of talent the likes we have never seen and it is squandered by weird favoritism to prep rankings and street cred.

If Matt doesn’t rip him a new one and say what needs to be said then I will lose some respect for him. The first 5 minutes should be nothing but raking him over the coals for not standing up and taking it like a man. I’m sure Cal would expect his players to.
I'm to the point that I don't even think it's the lineups. I think Calipari just, you know, sucks at coaching basketball.
Guys it's not Cal. He doesn't play stall ball or tighten up when things get tight. He's a great Coach, great X's and O's guy who puts his players in the best position to success. He's just had back luck a few times.
This loss would feel horrible if it weren't routine/predictable at this point.
My favorite part of the game was when we played Bradshaw and Ugo in the front court with Reeves on the bench in a game we ended up losing by a point. Frittering away a few possessions here and a few there with pathetic lineup choices is an art that Cal has mastered.

I wonder what the team was doing while he was in Indy, mugging for the cameras earlier in the week, bragging about how many of “his guys” were playing in the ASG? After all we did have a game in 3 days, granted it was at 9:00 instead of 4:00.

The one thing that remains true is that there is no way this team/coach is winning 6 straight tough games in a row in less than a month.
Don’t believe me? We haven’t won
more than 4 in a row all year and that was twice all the way back in 2023, hasn’t happened in two months so far this year. And those 4 game winning streaks included UL, Illinois State, Stonehill, Marshall, and Penn.
If you think we will win more than 4 in tourney you’re speaking out of blind faith and optimism as there is nothing in our schedule this year that shows we can be that consistent.
