Why not? Do you think it makes you a lesser fan (as if that even matters)? That the soft serve ice cream at Rupp just won't hit the same the next time you're at a game?

If we're looking at the next 5 years of Kentucky basketball and trying to actually win championships, which silly me thought that was the whole point of all this hooping around every year, the best thing that can happen tonight is for Ole Miss to roll into Rupp and embarrass us in a 30 point blowout. Sure, the fans who rage would do their usual schtick, stick the TV remote up their ass, talk about what # pour they're on, and embarrass themselves before passing out... but they'd live.

Short term pain for the long term gain.

With Cal, we're stuck in basketball purgatory and are not going to compete for a championship again until he's gone. I'm not even sure he really cares anymore about W's and L's beyond trying to make a run in March for more exposure going into the June draft. The day-to-day actual work? Let's just leave that to my well-paid assistants. The X's and O's? I've been coaching 40 years, what are you talking about? You people are crazy! Here's a link to a book I skimmed through about leadership. Remember to enter discount code "LaFamilia" for 10% off. It's basically like having Rich Paul or Scott Boras as a head coach at this point. I mean, we're the #1 team in the country in field goals made per game and in 3 point %, scoring 90 points a game, with about as good a set up as you can ask for when it comes to sharing the rock and getting open shots, and we still start Justin Edwards, a guy averaging less than 1 assist a game and a 29% three point shooter. A guy who averages less than 1 steal a game, who has 6 total blocks on the season (less than Antonio Reeves and Big Z in his total 57 minutes played this year), and the only guy on the team who isn't 7' that doesn't have a positive assist-to-turnover ratio. And why? Because..? Some dreams are just worth fighting for? It's an embarrassment to the coaching profession. At some point "I can't hide you" became "I can't bench you if you're one of the chosen few."

We've got to hit bottom to ultimately get clean. The worst thing that could happen the rest of this year is we bullshit our way as a 6 or 7 seed into an Elite 8 run, with some OMG he did it again I still believe upset along the way, only to ultimately get put in our place by a better coached team, and the malpractice of the past three months mostly getting swept under the rug and running it back again next year because Coach Belly is still dangerous in March.
Eat dong, nerd. Hope you enjoyed watching KD Johnson and the boys.

Ugo was so good man. 36 minutes?

Neutralized one of the best bigs in the country. He got his passively, but was far from his typical dominance .

Theiro a goddam beast. Tone is the best 2G (sorry Wayne) in the country.

Good shit man. We controlled that game for the FULL 40. Hell yes. A Saturday evening with a big win?

Enjoy this.

They have to get more production out of Shepherd though. Takes them from good to great. Get him some more 3’s

Led from the tip, and really despite the first 4 minutes of the 2nd that were controlled by the refs we controlled the rest.

- We were the better team and they felt it which is why they got to playing handsy and dirty begging for calls.

- We are FR and play like it when it’s tight. Someone mentioned Reed not shooting and that’s typical for FR not wanting to make the mistake with a lead.

That pass to Adou was slick and the type of read he makes vs Wagner.

- Reeves was clutch.

- Wagner was tough tonight. Given his limitations I love that kids game.

- Spew your shit Cal, I won’t listen and have no intention of ever hearing it, but go right ahead and let it rip!

- Pass the brown water.

One trend I did not like was the drives as the shot clock is expiring and the guards were falling down.

Damn dude, I’m in shambles. Just fell to my knees at the Piggly Wiggly.

I mean, it’s a nice dopamine rush. This team has Final Four talent so it’s cool to see it show for the first time in a month. My money is still on a familiar ending playing out but would love to be wrong.

The Read/Reed on that pass was filthy, the replay really showed it.

Was like a QB play & a huge bucket when it was getting semi-dicey.

The inevitable run came, 5pt game. And right back to 14. Impressive

2 of our 3 toughest matchups of the year, nether at home, we led for 79 minutes. Just gotta keep that same focus when it’s not do-or-die.

How many dunks Thiero had in the last couple weeks? 20? He’s the X, and always has been.

33 minutes is kinda wow, never thought I’d see that. The impact is undeniable, he just makes tough & timely plays, while really being the ONLY true tough & above-the-rim guy we have. He rebounds out of his area, skies on both ends, chases loose balls, finishes strong, and just has that attitude & physicality we lack overall.

He’s also sneaky one of our best attackers from the wing. He needs polish on making the best play (wing looks) but gets into the lane with ease with his unique style and cadence.

If he comes back (lol) he’s got your annual Kansas rugged breakout AA written all over him. Every great team has a guy like him.

Buddy of mine had to watch the end of the ‘98 Duke game watching through the door of his porch because the rally started after he’d stepped outside.
I ate a can of potted meat right before our rally in that game because I’m Pike County white trash. So guess what I ate in the second half of our next two games?

I locked everyone out of my house, at the watch party for the 2012 championship game. I made them all watch the second half of the game at the outside patio bar, while I watched it in the adjacent den. My wife texted me that some of them had to use the bathroom, so I allowed them to go around the house, use the front door, and access the bathroom in the front of the house, provided they didn't speak, or even look at me. Go in the front door, walk silently to the bathroom, do what you have to do, and GTFO. Unreasonable? I didn't think so. I just didn't care for their casual attitude and mindless banter during the game.

Would they have really wanted to be in there with you? My wife refuses to watch games with me.

“If you’re going to act like that . . . .”

Ummm, have I ever NOT acted like that in all of our 28 years together?”
