Did any of you basketballs predict that adding the 7 footers would destroy our DEFENSE?
I only recall the hand-wringing (myself included) about how the 7 footers would cause the offense to decline.
I think we also underestimated the impact of not only adding 3 centers in December/January, but also adding 3 centers who didn't even participate in the offseason, preseason nor early season practices.
Cal should have recognized it in practice that those guys weren't ready and should only play a handful of minutes. He just couldn't help himself.

Yes, the knock was that our offense would struggle. In Cal's defense on this, I can see how he thought we needed extra height after we lost to KU.
Also in Cal’s defense, I can see how one might assume that elite recruits might have been able to react competently when faced with this new fangled “pick and roll” type of offense that’s recently become en vogue

- I don't know if people really grasp how much of themselves they reveal on social media, but after backgrounding 287 possible jurors [for a trial that got continued less than 24 hours before it started], I appreciate people's oversharing tremendously.
- Between a miserably busy start to the year at work, Cal-related depression, and developing a hatred of the Chiefs that feels pretty unhealthy, I am doing my best to pivot toward re-discovering fun in sports. I have chosen to do this by completely indulging my fascination with wrasslin'. While it's not real, the combo of strength/athleticism has always impressed the hell out of me. I know from experience what it takes to be as strong and visibly muscular as they are, and thinking about the training they have to do to learn how to suplex each other without killing anyone on top of the diet, the lifting, the cardio, [the supplements], blows my mind.
Plus, I already live in a new money zip code outside Cincinnati. This feels pretty on-brand trashy for me, tbh.
- Relatedly, I've been binging Dark Side of the Ring. I just watched the Brian Pillman episodes, which were uniquely fascinating since he lived in Walton and his kids are all based in NKY, and the Bengals strength coach who helped launch him was an absolute DUDE. But then last night I saw that the kid who thwarted the Mariemont school shooting with the trashy dad...is Brian Pillman's grandson. After the Pillman's got a gun incident with Stone Cold, this is a hilarious (and pretty cool) full circle moment.
- Husband and I last-minute got tickets for Monday Night Raw at Rupp last night and it was a blast. I do wonder if the little kids watching now know it's not real, but it was very cute to hear them cheering for their favorites like I cheered for Derek Anderson and Jeff Sheppard.
- In brief: real sports have broken me, so I'm allin70000strong on a fake one. Fire John Calipari.

When no one on your team plays defense in the games, what makes you think they play enough defense in practice for Cal to have a realistic evaluation of what to expect?
Not defending him, but that’s a tough thing to gauge.

I’d argue it is more of a Boras issue than a FO issue. That dude is asking for way too much money. Hoyer obviously is against the large contracts, at least at this point. He has a tendency to wait out the the bigger numbers, hoping to get a more team friendly deal done so who knows.

Whatever these mythical savants are called, put several of them on the bench, so they can impart their wisdom of the game onto our players and therefore gauge their development, or lack thereof.

- I was the first man in America to call out female hydration culture 6 months ago. Today, I’d like to raise awareness of one more bit of psychosis from the cratered ones - is my wife the only one with 500 of those giant cloth-like bags from places like TJ Maxx, Lulu, etc? Like - I understand they are occasions when it’s nice to have one, hauling Christmas presents for example, but we don’t need hundreds. I’m about to load them up with water bottles and toss them in the river.
- People keep wanting to come see the baby. I don’t get it. The baby won’t get the least bit interesting for another 3-4 months.
- It’s tough for me to even read a baseball article anymore. You need a 400-level stats class to even get through all the analytics. One more reason baseball is fading.
- Had a dream last night that Sloot, Anth and BBdK invited me to watch a Kentucky game in the foodcourt of an IKEA. It was their wodie new spot. Beans in there already saddled up. BBdK pacing. Sloot with the big blue fist. I was perplexed but F it. “Ok doggy, I’m in. I guess this is fine. Whatever.” Analyze that you hotshot head doctors.

We've got 2-3 gals in the office who are carrying around large plastic tote bags that contain, among numerous other things, their large purses.
-We have a million shoved in various locations. The little booze divider bags are actually kinda nice. Reminder, throwing stuff in the river is illegal and harmful to the environment.
