I have never been to a Comic Con.

Lexington Comic & Toy Con's Post: How about you convention experts share your wisdom with the 1st timers? What should a first time convention attendee know before they show up?

Answers:
"Please shower
and eat meals keep yourself healthy and everyone around you!
Most importantly: Just enjoy and have fun!"
"Make a plan. Shower (hygiene is key for things like this).
Wear comfortable clothes or pack them so you have them on a day you don’t dress up"
"Wear deodorant. It’s shocking how many con-goers are unaware of basic hygiene."
"Drink water, snack (granola bar type), walking shoes, sleep, shower, be kind and have an amazing time."
"Deodorant!"
"It may seem silly to say but wear or even bring deodorant."
"Showering, deodorant, and wearing fresh clothes is a good start."
"Shower and deodorant"
"Deodorant,
good hydration, getting there early will make your day better"
"Deodorant is a wonderful thing."

And now I never will. I mean, WTF.

There was one year the SECT was in Atlanta the same time as a comic con (or something like that) and shew wee there were some world colliding around the Omni

This team (thru no fault of John Calipari's) has mostly solved it's offensive issues. Swapping out Wallace for Wheeler, and Reeves for Fredrick has given us a pretty good offensive punch.

But teams go right at Oscar on D and absolutely destroy us. We're *so* easy to coach and play against. So that's what Collins can give us. Swap out Collins for Oscar for an extended period of time, and do it on purpose, and let's see what happens. Marcus.
Cal sacrificed at least 2 seed lines by playing ridiculous lineup combinations for half the season.

So much of his midseason turnarounds is simply getting around his own early season stupidity.

He didn't really get around it. He was forced into it with injuries and players quitting the team. When given the chance, see Vandy(2x), he reverted back.

JFC. Had my mortgage pre-approval from my bank yesterday. Since 8AM today i've had 32 calls from lenders soliciting. GD vultures. I don't ever remember any of this during previous mortgages. Reminds of the late aughts with agents going nuts over lendingtree leads.

Wyvern, this could be your neighbor…

“I took a second glance and said ‘Oh my God! There is a monkey on the front porch,’” she recalled to the Oklahoma City TV station.

The monkey was trying to get into her house, KXII reported, and it broke off part of her storm door’s handle.

Parker went outside when officers arrived, KOKH reported.

But as an officer got out of his patrol vehicle, the monkey jumped onto the back of the vehicle, according to the release.

That’s when the monkey ran toward the woman, climbed onto her and attacked, authorities said.

“He crawled up my back, yanked out multiple wads of hair and then ripped my ear in half,” Parker told KXII. “And it was just hanging.”

“As we were looking for the primate, two shots were fired,” Dickson police chief Tim Duncan told KOKH. “The shots came from the area of the victim’s residence. Officers went back to the house and found that a family member of the victim shot and killed the primate.”

The monkey’s body was collected, police said, and it will be sent to the Oklahoma Disease Laboratory for testing.

Oh the impulse will still be there.

Remember how much he hated playing Derek Willis in 2016?

He gets around it by having the harsh reality shatter his own preseason prejudice.

Listening to Mags’ breakdown of the bourbon tax today would have me beyond furious if I were still a KY resident. Taking away county tax but leaving the others in place is f’n crazy!

I haven’t voted since 2008 and obviously am a FL resident now but this type of crap would get me back to voting again if I were still a KY resident.

I’ve been to (1) comic-con. I took my boys when they were little. Probably 8-9 years ago. They had an absolute blast. Dressed up like super hero’s, spent the day walking around and looking at cool toys/exhibits. But the one thing that stood out and the first thing I think about is the smell. Just awful.

-Prague = Incredible.

One week in there and it's near the top of my favorite European cities. The people are simply amazing, the beer is the best I've had, the history was intriguing, and sites were breathtaking.

Probably whatsurpsied me the most was the food was pretty top notch. Not Paris level, but really good. That is as long as you don't order the pork jaw stew.

And did I mention pretty much everyone speaks fluent english... Just awesome.

Even hit a late night techno dance club with a bunch of other 40 something redneck Americans, with a fake Marshmallow DJ wearing a light up head mask thing playing 80s hits to big thumping techno beats and synthesizers. Quick trip to VIP area ala GYERO STYLE, bottles with sparklers coming out of the top, smoking cubans inside with no one saying a word, approached by numerous Czechs knowing we were American and wanting to talk about how much they love the states.

Worst part, doing a distillery tour of the beloved brandy distillers, Rudolf Jelinek Distilleries.
There's simply no way you can make Kosher Plum Brandy taste good. Purse disgusting.

Chances of returning back for another visit: 100%

-First time staying at a Four Seasons hotel. Maybe the closest Ill ever feel to being a Schembari. Everything first class. from the turn down service, the soft slippers, to the room with private balcony overlooking Charles Bridge.

-YOUTUBE TV does not work outside of the US. Saw none of the SEC tournament, and appears I didn't miss much. Regardless, F You Youtube TV. What does work outside of the United States you may ask? PornHub.

-Kevin Costner OUT on Yellowstone. Really have enjoyed the series, but now seeing it will take a similar path of shows that slowly go down the toilet bowl, attempting to continue after the star leaves, kind of like Walking Dead did when Rick left the show.

-What a gift the NCAA gave the Cats this year in seeding. As a forever UK fan, I enter the tournament hopeful the Cats can figure it out and go on a deep run, but realistic enough to know, we can be one and done in the tournament like many of Cal's treasured 5 stars.

-Basement remodel almost complete with home theatre and bourbon bar being installed. My Great Grandfather's 1948 Brunswick Anniversary 9' pool table has been lovingly restored by the fine folks at Lexington Billiards and will be reassembled in the basement next week. Some of my earliest memories at my Grandparents house was rolling pool balls back and forth on the pool table, and looking forward to watching the Huber boys play some pool on it, knowing 5 generations of the family have enjoyed it over the past 75 years.

The last piece before everything is complete is finding a Golden tee Arcade game. Not one of those cheap 1Up ones, but an actual arcade one like we used to slam our hands against the screen when blasting a drive down the fairway at BW3s. If anyone has an in with someone the has one for sell, holla at your boi.

-Woodford County. WTF is going on with your youth? No longer a doormat to any sport that's not Wrestling. One of the best football seasons in history, baseball team ranked in Top 15 in state, oh, and a basketball team going to the sweet 16?!?!?! And of course Wrestling is BMFs too. But what a boom in athletic talent coming out of Kentucky's most beautiful and smaller populous counties. Lets go Yellowjackets!

Speaking of, anyone have some Sweet 16 tickets they are looking to dump? School has been called off tomorrow because Woodford is playing in the Sweet 16 and the boys are wanting to go watch.

-UKO, how about them Heels! 😂😂😂😂😂

The fact that anyone is entertaining the thought of these distilleries leaving is ridiculous. The bourbon boom is on Kentucky Bourbon.

They ain't making Kentucky Bourbon in Wisconsin.

Would also cost these companies billions to just up and move. Be a nice little payday for the resident demolition man, but probably not a smart financial decision on their parts.

Totally forgot to send in my sons $33 for a field trip tomorrow, but we did send in the signed permission slip.

Called the school when my son got home upset he can’t go and simply asked if we could please run the money up there which would take 5 minutes.

Office lady pages the teacher who proceeds to tell me no this will just be a life lesson which I mean ok, but you are punishing my son not me so take that life lesson and shove it up your ass……..

Sir we explained to the kids not to wait until the last minute and Wyatt specifically asked me for his slip 3 times.

Yes and we signed it and sent it in 3 weeks ago, so for real my son isn’t going because I messed up, hope that makes you feel good. So what’s my son doing tomorrow while his whole class is on this field trip?

Well this happened to about 10 kids and since his whole team is going besides those 10 they’ll sit in ISAP which is in school detention.

LOL, I tell ya what I’ll pay for all 10 kids to go right now just so no one is left behind.

No sir I can’t let you do that.

Ok well, cool. My son won’t be there tomorrow maybe I’ll just take him to mammoth cave myself just to make sure he doesn’t miss out. No matter what tho I seriously doubt we learn this life lesson you are trying to teach, but I do hope you feel better about yourself getting this kind of control over your kids when their parents make a mistake that’s awfully big of you!

Turn around and tell my son sorry……..his response “well if I don’t have to go to school tomorrow it’s fine, but if you really want to make up for it I’d love some El nopal for dinner”.

Burritos and Margaritas it is! Lesson learned!!

Maybe it’s not a Bullitt County thing but every field trim permission slip I have signed has the amount due and who to make the check out to on it.

But way to turn the permission slip in early. Seems shitty to not give you the exception at the last minute but maybe they didn’t have space on the buses or anything else that required a paid reservation.

Maybe, but see what really happened was money was due last Thursday but the teacher was out because she wanted a 5 day weekend as teachers had Bullitt days Friday and Monday. This extended the day to pay to today and if they wanted they could have let students call their parents for a reminder after a long weekend.

It’s fine, really. I know it was my mistake and I’ll over make up for it.

It actually has more to do with it being a desirable place to live. No need for the school to recruit when the parents covet 40383.
Sure, pal. I’m sure that’s why GRC is booming right now, too. Everybody wants to live in Winchester.

They had to send the Jessamine schools to the 12th for a reason. Lotta McCreary County in Nicholasville.

Look I’m just saying what everyone else is thinking. Woodford is a desirable place to live and has been my entire life. And they’ve been ass at everything except boys wrestling that entire time. I wish West Jessamine would start openly recruiting. Doesn’t seem like the KHSAA cares anymore. Enjoy the sweet 16 buddy.

They make a ton in Indiana and Utah these days. Hell, Indiana basically launched most of the younger brands. The main line worldwide brands could probably easily drop the Kentucky and most of the world wouldn't even notice. The ryes could move tomorrow. Not saying the tax bill is right, I don't know enough about it, but the thought future expansion couldn't be moved, is silly.

The barrel tax is a BS tax and needed to be eliminated. Why should one industry pay a tax on inventory and then at the point of sale. All business in this country pays tax at the point of sale.
What happens if they never sell 20% of that years bourbon? But they paid taxes on it every year for 6, 8, 12, or 20+ years
Think of the top end bourbons that age for 20 years. They pay a tax every year for 20 years before they can even sell their products. It's silly.

Why is the county tax a state law? Is there any reason the counties couldn't levy their own tax? Cut out the Frankfort middle man, he's probably skimming the skim anyway.

The star player is the football coach/ADs son. They didn't have to recruit him.
