It’s 42 degrees in Boca right now. Wtf?!?! Global warming my ass. In all seriousness I hope everyone stays warm in KY. Negative temps are no joke.

This little kid in front of us on the flight was something else. Talked to everyone within a 10 foot radius. “HI WHAT’S YOUR NAME? WHERE ARE YOU GOING? DO YOU LIKE MY SHIRT? I JUST WATCHED HOME ALONE HAVE YOU SEEN IT ITS SO FUNNY! asoasf…” My kids were legitimately scared.

This is my first real vacation longer than a weekend in 6 years. I legit woke up this morning and didn’t feel stressed. Amazing feeling.

07 is transferring to an all boys Catholic school in Jan. Lots of different reasons for the move, but mainly for the strong support system and brotherhood the school preaches. He had a pretty terrible experience during Covid and hasn’t truly recovered. This school has rolled out the red carpet for him and made him feel really important and comfortable. Excited to see what happens next. A lot of family sacrifice to send him to a school 30+ miles away when you have a top HS just down the street - but you only get one chance to raise your kids and this is the right thing to do.

John Calipari needs a strong PG to run the show bc he can’t coach. Wheeler isn’t the answer.

Kentucky doesn’t need shooters - we have good shooters. But it needs a coach who understands how to get shooters open within the natural flow of the game. Offense shouldn’t feel like a root canal.

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone. I’m tired of beating around the bush with saying Happy Holidays and all the pc nonsense.

- Duck Ragu was a hit. A few minor tweaks and that thing will become a Christmas tradition and absolutely perfect!

Checked the fridge this morning and the sauce(gravy) is thickening which was my only issue.

- Sugar and Spice donuts for Christmas Eve. Been doing that since I came home from UK in 02. Whether it was my mom going for them or me, someone had their donuts in our household for a long time!

- Just got the email from Best Buy that the pellet ice maker is in this morning. Shew, cut it a little too close for me, but thankful non the less.

Chic Fil A caught their glitch as they used to charge us $1.50 for a 5 pound bag which was a good deal as the wife would eat 5 bags a week.

But now they put those 5 pound bags on the catering menu at $5 a pop. $25 a week will cover this ice maker in a few months and save the running we have to do to keep the deep freezer stocked.

- Our nieces won’t ask us for anything because we do too much already. Typing that makes me tear up as the gratitude is off the charts………now be a f’ing kid and tell me something, anything!

- Losing all our family the last few years so it feels so different having “nothing to do” compared to all the travels we made for years on Christmas/Christmas Eve.

Wanted to start a go to the movies tradition with just my small group. A throw back to my childhood when we’d all pile into my granny’s 1 bedroom apartment for a meal and presents and then all head to the movies in Paducah.

Just like back then, our crew can’t decide on 1 movie, so we’ll end up splitting up and be all over the place with times.

- A white Christmas!

- Firing up the gas fireplace. Can only use it in the day time as the thermostat is right next to it so it throws it off and freezes us in our bedrooms at night.

Gives me a flashback to 1994 when we got 16” of snow and everyone lost power. We had a real fireplace and our whole family came over with camping equipment etc.

We all huddled around that thing and kept it roaring for 3-4 days straight.

I live just south of Boca Raton. Cold but sunny today! Going to be real football weather at the Dolphins game tomorrow and not the usual sun fest. Fins up!

As for Cal, I never said he couldn’t coach. He obviously can - or could - at a very high level. But someone said he was one of, if not the most, innovative coaches in college basketball.

$100B to Ukraine and a whole slew of other ToysRUs expenditures, and we don't have a power grid strong enough to withstand 48 hours of cold temps. Rolling blackouts in 2023...hilarious. But lets make everyone get an electric car....liberal ignorance at its finest.

Merry Christmas, gents and lassies.

Pre-Christmas Vegas report:

"Slowest time of the year" my ass. Most places were busy, several were rocking (Aria, Cosmo, Caesar's, Resorts World). Stayed at Venetian, courtesy of IHG Rewards points.

David Blaine at Resorts World was a crazy show. Our seats were literally up against a stack of boxes for him to jump into from 9 stories up. Later did his classic card tricks involving sewing his mouth shut and spitting up the missing piece of the card, then held his breath in a tank of water for 10 minutes.

Raiders-Patriots was epic. The stadium is amazing, Raiders with a crazy and controversial win, T-Pain halftime show, and the food concessions were top notch (chicken and avocado burritos, brisket and pork shoulder plates, the best chicharrons ever, Jamaican jerk chicken skewers) The enormous throng of people leaving the stadium and walking back to the strip was nuts. Later cashed Raiders -2 and Bengals -3.5 tickets.

Barry's Downtown Prime at Circa was near perfection. 12 oz rib cap, gratin broccoli, mashed potatoes, and the fried cauliflower. Mr. Olympia Phil Heath at the next table celebrating his birthday. Walked down Fremont Street all the way to El Cortez. Played some 3-card poker and won a little. Gave it right back to a Huff n Puff slot.

Played a Pinball 3-credit clot at MGM Grand and hit a $4,000 winner. First ever NHL game that night with Sabres and Golden Knights. The speed of the game is insane in person, and hockey is so better live than on TV. Walked through/ played some at Park MGM and Aria and ate some late-night pizza there before retiring for the night.

Bellagio conservatory always amazing, but especially at Christmas. Won a little at Top Dollar slot there. On to Caesar's Palace and won some on a Huff n' More Puff and Dragon Cash slot each. Halal Guys for a cheap dinner. Did the Absinthe show at Caesar's and sat in front of Rick Harrison, a.k.a. Pawn Stars shop owner. Gave some money back to Venetian on some blackjack and slots.

Drama trying to get home when Southwest bumped my wife (Companion Pass holder) from the flight to Chicago. I had to literally come off the plane where I was holder her a seat next to mine and "volunteer" to come off the overbooked plane. My brother flew back alone with our luggage. Lady I spoke to initially at the gate went on break while we were trying to figure out what our options an compensation would be, and her replacement was awful. Said we didn't deserve compensation, that me coming off the plane wasn't really voluntary and I shouldn't get shit, indignant and unsympathetic to our situation. Finally, the first girl came back, they argued about it, brought in a supervisor to whom we had already spoken, and she reimbursed us for the missed flights, gave us vouchers for future flights, put us up in the sketch OYO Hotel/Casino (formerly Hooter's Casino) and cab vouchers. $1 blackjack and slots, had to ask the sportsbook guy to put the UK-FAMU game on a TV, ate Hooters wings for dinner, lost a little on blackjack, won it back plus on a Dragon Cash slot that filled up the whole board minus one. Would've been a nice $13K win had that last one hit.

Flew back via Houston on Thursday and got home in the blowing snow late. Damn near frostbite getting gas yesterday.

Fin.

Lol. What was that, Joe.

Been reluctantly making some good money lately on the Bengals, it’s whatever.

Best Modern & original non-traditional/pop Christmas Songs:

1.) Outkast - Player’s Ball
2.) Wham - Last Christmas
3.) Jose Feliciano - Feliz Navidad

Just Classic bangers. Open to suggestions on others, but pretty difficult to envision one
cracking that Top 3

Shout to Mariah, obviously, Who makes the lassies lose their collective everloving minds (paraphrasing) as Richie so eloquently puts it. Respect.

The Pogues - Fairytale of New York
Leona Lewis- One More Sleep
Kelly Clarkson- Underneath the Tree
Kacey Musgraves - Christmas Makes Me Cry
Believe- Josh Groban

On second thought, gimme Wham at #1 for these next 2 days.

Outkast rightfully gets the other 363 days for their classic debut single.

George Michael is unreal. There’s a little pocket of people that somehow loathe this song & they can seriously get Fd, even on Christmas

#4. Wrapped in Red 🔥

-Awesome stuff Pdre. You Vegas correctly sir, well done 🙌🏽

Gave me the serious itch…
