My in-laws are in town and are giving constant updates of the affects of weather to their friends and family back in Canada - which I clearly have no interest in hearing.

I’ve taken to responding by saying, “Wow that’s crazy.” And then summarizing what they’ve told me in plain terms. “Wow, that’s crazy. Wind make air move more than normal.” “Wow, that’s crazy. Ice makes things slippery.” Wow, that’s crazy. Snowfall increases if more snow keeps falling.”

Fun little game for dad while Nog-tripping, IMO.

If only the companion wasn't relegated to boarding last and separately from the pass holder.

Interesting, I've never had that experience. In fact, I always check myself in first and my CP holder immediately thereafter. And my CP always ends up 1 spot better than me. Every single time.

Family decided not to split up and everyone joined the kids for Puss in Boots. Got the lounge seats that are heated and let the kids splurge on whatever snacks they wanted without concern. They loved it.

$200 well spent.

Now it’s time to get it done. 3YO is out and the nieces are wrapping presents while we wait in the 6YO.

Still early compared to the old days, and I’m sober, so this should be a breeze. Added bonus for not having a single “put together” toy.

Side note, and a complete kick in the nuts, with breakfast planned tomorrow I went ahead and started prepping only to realize the the blackstone top didn’t protect from moisture. So I have 4 rust spots to sand out and recrisen before making bacon, sausage, omelets and French toast tomorrow.

Merry Christmas GYERO!

Merry Christmas, gang!

Evan Williams Egg Nog is delicious. OFSBBP pick is rocking me.

We are locked and loaded for tomorrow morning. Totally wrapped and mechandized under the tree. Bike, lounge chair, light saber, cabana ware… the usual.

Little man was in 5 o’clock mass nativity play. So awesome. When they turn off lights and sing Silent Night **chills**

Nice to see a real celebration of Christmas as opposed to the Pagan/secular school Holiday concert. That was an abomination… an overtly unequal display of Hanukkah tunes, Kwanzaa drum solo and a song about snow… whatever.

Christmas Story on… Ralphie’s mom is smoke. The dad miscast too old.

Christmas in Hollis

As predicted, our local (8.2) pizza joint jacked up prices and is completely jam packed into 1.5 hour pickup time. Beat.

I hope all have a healthy New Year.

Well, I finally made the kill-shot. I was shown a picture of a foot of snow on their friends’ grill and told, “It’s a good thing they weren’t planning on barbecuing.” (An enticement for the ultimate “no shit” response.)

I replied with, “When it snows: it snows.”
-FIN-

I've been told my mistake was getting Business Select. Had I done any other ticket level, the boarding would have been sequential. That's so dumb.

-"Observed Holiday" 🙄 Get back to work, fools.

-Rolled in to the office to a busted water line. So that's fun.

-Friday is the coldest I can remember being. Was moving a few things around without gloves and felt like I could've had legit frost bite if I stayed out any longer. F*ck sake.

-The Grinch prank has been floating around the grams recently. Some are pretty good but it's getting worn out. Those kids look a little young for that level of prank, tho.

-WTF you talking about? The dad in Christmas Story is the best character. He was perfectly cast.

-7 year old asking some subtle questions, probably trying to just be inquisitive, but I imagine we're on the last year or two of real innocence. Sucks.

-Dropped the ball on sausage gravy yesterday. Not paying attention over seasoned. It was crap. Ashamed of myself.

-Ate and drank like an asshole all weekend. Bleh. Cleaning that shit up. Feel gross.

-SAE thrusts himself into the public eye with a notable podcast, social media presence and occasional article... then gets offended when he's responsible for negative repercussions. Hopefully, this isn't the beginning of a "The Fisher King" deal. Great movie, btw.

The worst bowl game of all time is looking even worse, as there's an 80 pct chance of rain. At least it'll be 65. Can't wait to see if next year's backup QB is any good. Got some tix as a gift, but am not even sure where they are. Hopefully under a roof.

Sous vide was a nice Xmas pickup. Made some killer chicken last night. Can't wait to get a steak in there.

Deleted Instagram a few weeks ago because I got really sick of seeing people try way too hard to generate content that goes viral. They mimic the wrong parts of good content, like filters, language patterns, background music, etc., without the actual good content part. Just comes across as weird and culty.

Speaking of that, mimicking the wrong parts of good stuff is responsible for a lot of shitty shit. See every awful 90s rock band trying to sing like Kurt Cobain and skipping over the good tones, song structure and melodies. Terrible movie sequels do it all the time. But viral social media content takes the cake, probably because it's just too easy to do and there's little risk involved.

I deleted Twitter too, because it was only about Elon Musk for like a month and I just don't care about that. Twitter is hard to quit though. Fell off that wagon.

I like IG minus these people that always want to voice overs/lip sync the same thing everyone else has already done. But I’ll also go 4-5 days to a couple weeks without posting or getting on. When I start to notice I’m actively “thinking” about what I should put for a story it’s too time consuming and not fun, I’m making content whether I want to be or not.

Who doesn't like scaring the shit out of kids? I don't do it for social media, but I love getting a true reaction of fear from a kid.
