If Cal is still butthurt about the kid gloves Matt Jones gave him during the worst season in Kentucky basketball history, that's amazing. Also, can GYERO put in a formal request for Cal to be interviewed by drunk, angry Hyman Kaplan?

It is what it is at this point. I don’t think there is anyone in the media that more publicly and forcefully took up for Calipari on a local And national stage than I have. He is apparently upset that we were too critical during the 9-16 game and after the St Peters game. I am not sure how you do your job and not act like those were bad occurrences

I still like Cal and think he is a good guy. We will keep doing the show the same way and while it would be great to have him, at this stage it really doesn’t make a ton of difference if he does it or not. Just disappointing bc I think all of this is better when everyone is rolling in the same direction

Agents vs AD’s in contract negotiations is similar to the UT/UK football game.

Giving tens of millions of dollars to f’n assistants getting the opportunity of a lifetime is head scratching.

Comparing Will Levis to Josh Allen right now seems wildly foolish. Some of y'all need to chill. I love the kid's toughness and what he's accomplished here, but I struggle to see how he translates to the League. He's a first read guy that locks on his target and often pulls the trigger (if he is given the time) way too late.

I wouldn't have given a nickel for Allen after his NFL debut and they got him turned around in one off-season. Maybe these guys think they can "heal" Will as well. He'll definitely need some tutoring.

I think there is a notion that we just assume that Levis is one of the best quarterbacks at Kentucky because of his talents and his natural charisma. While he's been incredible here, his production has been below the hype this year.

I'm not sure how much of that is Levis' fault and how much the offensive scheme and O-line are hot garbage. Given what we saw when the backup came in (which was a wet, corny turd), I'm inclined to think that Levis is not the problem. He sucked on Saturday but he also had his damn pinkie nail torn off and even Brady, etc have bad games.

I'm inclined to believe he's legit but I understand the skepticism.

If we're being honest, we know what Cal would say, which is nothing of substance. It would be a monologue filled with the same old cliches. I like Cal, but stopped caring what he says in interviews long ago.

I agree. The days where it would be remotely interesting to listen to a Cal interview have long since passed.

It's usually just talking points that he's been repeating for the previous 24-48 hrs in all other interviews. The only times it is even remotely interesting is when he's interviewed by the Gameday crew directly after the Tournament selection or when he ventures onto Dan Patrick. Beyond that, he's not in the mood to engage in anything remotely new or remotely informative.

This is absolute speculation from an untrained football eye...

Stoops fell in love with the idea of a "pro style" offense. Sounds great to recruits, seemed to work with Coen, etc. He brought in Scangarello and basically said he wanted our offense to reflect what he ran (or helped run) at SF.

The only problem is, these aren't pros. They don't practice the amount of time pros do and they don't have the talent or maturity pros have. We look confused everywhere...the oline looks confused, Will looks confused, help blockers look confused. Our plays take too long to get in pre-snap they take too long to develop post-snap. There are breakdowns everywhere except when we do the one thing that's not confusing, which is give it to CRod and block whoever is in front of you. Contrast that with UT who was about tempo, pace and space. They seemed to not ask any of the kids to think, just react and do your job.

Will was terrible Saturday but he's seeing ghosts at this point. A once confident, quick decision maker (even if it was just staring down one receiver) has gotten happy feet in the pocket, is pitter patting and pump faking the ball even before throwing to open players. It's a shame, and I put it on the scheme over the players.

Made it from about 5PM to 5:34PM at the Halloween Party before my little girl fell asleep in her Rockford Peach uniform.

Our street gets blocked off to traffic with exception of the growing amount of golf carts- so kids are pretty much running wild, riding bikes, completely overtaking the area, which looks like a pretty damn good way to spend your youth. Our candy bowl got completely cleared out.

Auburn just continues to have an issue with getting in their own way. They have historically let a few major financial players make athletic decisions- which continues to pull them further away from the top tier of the conference. Oddly enough- if they just look at what they did with Bruce Pearl, bring in a good coach and leave him alone, thats probably a better recipe for success.

Back all-in on this Delphi murder case. So- if youre this guys wife of however many years- ovbiously you have to know thats been him the entire time, right? There's been a photo of him since day one, along with his voice recorded on the victims phone.

Shoutout to my guy Seamus Power, who i've been a big fan of for a while now, for his big win at the Butterfield Bermuda. Tough tournament, great field which is why its known as the 5th major.

Where is Chase?

I'm the exact opposite when it comes to Cal. I used to never listen to interviews or cared what he said. Now, I actually enjoy listening to him.

What do you actually glean from his interviews that give you good & positive takeaways?

It's all gibberish coachspeak mumbo jumbo cliche after cliche.

There's very rarely any raw/vulnerable commentary from Cal that makes you think he really gives a shit what BJW thinks.

Grief. You just trolling me, bubby?

FTR, Bringing up Josh Allen was more about the drop off from JR season to SR season, and the fact that he had very similar critiques coming out of Wyoming, but was still draft #7 overall for the exact same reasons Will Levis will be a top 5 pick.

I wasn’t comparing Will Levis to today’s Josh Allen.

Will Levis will have a better pro career than Hendon Hooker. So I’m glad for UT that they caught lightning in a bottle, but they’ll get smoked this week by a real defense.

Not at all. I genuinely like the guy and what he has to say. I know I'm alone on this. That's ok.

Pretty cool we have a top ten pick at the most important position with the football season we’re having. Real good stuff.

I, along with everyone else, was thrilled with Cal’s speaking ability in the beginning. After Tubby and BCG it was a breath of fresh air, but after 10 years it’s clear he’s as a big of a weirdo as 95% of all other major Division 1 coaches, which is probably one of the weirdest groups of people in the world.

Officially entering 90% of fruit tastes awful season

Shorts:

- Halloween was awesome. My daughter got it a little bit this year - she got a kick out of going up and getting the candy then throwing it in her bag. Think she set a career high in steps and candy eaten.

- Our neighborhood with all the old houses really shows out for Halloween- plus great weather with the rain stopping 15 minutes before trick or treating.

- Plus people were decked out in Who Dey gear with firepits and drinks. Really cool scene.

- Been awhile since I had that old familiar fall malaise and self-loathing that comes after a double shot of football ass-kicking. Bengals in a weird spot with a generational QB who’s just good enough to tow his shit coach to enough success to keep him employed. Windows are notoriously small in the NFL. I don’t know what to think.

- Yeah that Delphi case was as creepy as they get. The podcast was terrific.

- Speaking of tragedy, how sad is it about that Beechwood/UK student studying abroad in South Korea getting caught in that stampede? Awful.

- Many would argue it’s always been tge case but having a daughter has turned me into a complete p****.

- Speaking of, have my place in the preregistration line for Taylor Swift’s July 1 date at Paul Brown Stadium. My wife will literally die if we don’t see her.

- Auburn is a clownshow. Lil Bro complex mixed with a little redneck mixed with Deep South disregard for authority/law. They and the rest of the SEC can get pumped.

Not a complete p****. It may seem like it, but wait until there's the slightest threat to her - you will become Superfly TNT, the Guns of the Navarone, and a mushroom-cloud layin' MFer. There was a guy threatening GirlTweon at one point during high school and I was thisclose to a felony. Luckily, BoyTweon is a stout 6'2" and shares my protective streak, so he took care of it, but I was fit to be tied.
