Dave Chappelle got canceled, too. He talks about it on the most watched special in the history of Netflix that he made $24 million for, and during his nationwide arena sellout tour as well.

Hank Williams Sr was fired from the Grand Ole Opry at the height of his fame in 1949. Jason Isbell was kicked out of the Drive-by Truckers for being a drunk and a drug addict. The Turnpike Troubadours broke up at their peak because of Evan Felker's alcoholism. The Dixie Chicks were boycotted and taken off the radio over their opposition to the Iraq war.

OMG CANCEL CULTURE.

Chappelle has gone out of his way to make fun of the LGBTQIA+ (the "Alphabet People") and the trans community in general for the past few years. He's completely hysterical, if you ask me, but you've got to be all kinds of dumb to expect people not to get pissed off when you profit off making them the butt of your jokes. He's made a bunch of people upset, but he's also made way more people laugh, to the point he's continued to be filthy rich off his work.

Sorry about your CANCEL CULTURE, though. It's a tough life.

Morgan Wallen had the #1 selling album of any genre in 2020, and currently has the most successful tour in country music.

That would be....

Jokes. They are jokes and observations. Don’t like it? Don’t watch.

I thought Dave went out of his way, in a self-indulgent way, to explain his empathy towards the group, but was simply stating that the gay folks cause has leapfrogged the AA struggle in terms of 3rd rail media sensitivity - ironically in the year of George Floyd.

it was innocuous (to me as a bystander of both causes-as I am neither)

Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album is 2021’s year-end No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.

The set was released in January, debuted atop the weekly Billboard 200 chart dated Jan. 23, and spent 10 weeks atop the list in 2021. That’s the most weeks at No. 1 among all albums since Drake’s Views racked up 13 weeks on top in 2016.

Dangerous was also the first album to spend its first 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 since 1987, when Whitney Houston’s Whitney album logged all 11 of its weeks at No. 1 starting from its debut week (from the June 27 through Sept. 5, 1987-dated charts). Dangerous is the only country album to spend its first 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 since the chart began publishing on a regular, weekly basis in March 1956. Further, Dangerous is one of just four country albums to spend at least 10 weeks in total at No. 1 on the weekly Billboard 200.

Yes, it was hysterical (to me, and millions of others). But he made jokes at the expense of people. So please don't be caught off guard when not every single person finds it funny.

FYI: I did like it. A lot. And I did watch, too. It was great.

Your quote: Morgan Wallen had the #1 selling album of any genre in 2020,

So again....should I have the court reporter read it back to you?

I watched it and thought it was mediocre compared to his previous stuff.

That said, I think he has a brilliant mind with many interests and insights. His Letterman and Joe Rogan interviews impressed the hell out of me.

- I'm going to cancel all of you for not STFU about cancel culture.

Chappelle's last special was pretty mediocre compared to the rest of the Netflix run, tbh. It was funny, but not in the same ballpark as Sticks and Stones, for instance. Love the dude, but The Closer was really self-aggrandizing, even where he made really interesting points/observations.

- Now that the Stoops contract is "settled," as much as those things ever are, let's get the FB scuttlebutt. What's the deal with Paschal's injury, why are people talking about Smoke transferring, are we losing anyone really valuable in the transfer portal, what other dudes are available in the portal, etc.

- Pretty peeved that my December workload has grown to about 150% of what November was. Pretend work/coasting to Christmas ain't gonna cut it this year. Son of a.

Two things can both be true

1. Society as a whole gets too offended too easily and then when they do make big judgments about people based on small mistakes. This happens more now with the far left but the far right will do the same at times too. Everyone likes to be offended and outraged. It happens all the time to all types of people and when it does we are always way too resistant to forgive and note that we all screw up

2. People do say things that are offensive and when that happens, people are going to be upset. And when people who aren’t in the group that was the target of the comments say they aren’t offended….well no shit, it didn’t apply to you. But I have seen virtually everyone on here get angry or offended about something that doesn’t bother me and lord knows I have been offended by stuff that wouldn’t bother most of you. It’s the way of the world

“Cancel culture” is another term for the fact that liberals tend to run Entertainment and Conservatives are mad that when they do things liberals don’t like, people get mad. Well no shit. Try being a player kneeling in Kentucky and tell me that doing something unpopular in the place you do it won’t have ramifications.

Everyone should lighten up, but Wayne, who sits online waiting for a white person to be aggrieved so he can come on and type about how awful it is, could be the worst voice for that position on the internet….which is saying something considering the fact that UKO and The Sheriff are both still allowed on it

(And I did that whole post without responding to what the one dude said about me….so eat it BBDK)

I have to take a 2-hour long live unconscious bias class now. I’ll ask them to clarify if Dave or Morgan is getting cancelled.

Wayne, it's okay. If you need an emotional support dog to make it thru this I'm sure I can help.

The overwhelming majority of "CANCEL CULTURE" nonsense is manufactured, faux outrage horseshit. Dr Seuss, Mr Potato Head, Baby It's Cold Outside, Sesame Street, etc, etc, etc.
Well...yeah. No shit. But it certainly exists.

Can you imagine the reaction if Lincoln Riley let it slip he was a Trump voter? Sure, it is faux outrage but I bet he'd be looking for a new job because of it.

-meh...I hate buzzwords, "cancel culture" included. As a proponent of free speech *and* the free market...this is a tough one to tackle.

-It's more about hypocrisy... neither side likes to hear it when their side does something suspect. As Matt said: one side controls entertainment/media narrative...so their side tends to get a pass, that's what pisses people off.

^why I've pretty much turned it all off. Life's too short to be pissed all the time, i try not to worry about things over which a have little/no control.

You mean like Nick Saban and Bill Belichick?
