I can’t even pinpoint our #1 problem.

I can. We're a bunch of GD p%ssies. How many times this year have we had the ball slapped out of our hands or just straight up taken away? How many times have we had 3-4 guys near a rebound but the opponent still comes away with it? How many times have we been beat to a loose ball?

We have a ton of issues but if we were just tough I bet we would have won 3-4 more games. This is the softest bunch I've ever seen play here.

All is not lost, Richmond is getting a Buc-ee's and I imagine one will go in around Louisville and NKY sooner rather than later.

I remember being on spring break one year- in between drinking alcohols and partying with all the girls me and my pals, who were also drinking alcohol and partying with girls, played a basketball game against these guys as a goof. We lost the game, in no small part because of all the alcohol and being distracted by all the girls, but I felt like we gave those guys something to be happy about and they’d always remember winning that pickup basketball game on spring break- again, that we played as a goof in between alcohol and girls.

Omg...I've seen all the pictures, but never been to one. They have like an entire deli counter setup dedicated to jerky. A 100 yard long drink fountain. It looks like Disney World + CFA + WalMart teamed up to build the perfect gas station.

Simply put, I'm gonna go hog wild in that mfer.

And to waste it on Madison County. Smh.

Hopefully they have their BBQ sandwich station. Not sure why they wouldn't.

Pork, Brisket, Sausage, Turkey, etc..

Pro tip - get the small bag of Beaver Nuggets. Large bag would go in one sitting.

And the restrooms 👍. They have 2-3 folks cleaning in there 24/7.

Sarr is such a gaping virginia in the post it is unbelievable. He in no way shape or form should be playing in a Calipari offensive system. Once again, Cal looked at some tall guy and decided to recruit him because of reputation alone. And being the arrogant jagoff he is, decided he could shove him into his system and make it work because he is smarter than everybody else.

Our big men look like toddlers trying to catch a balloon when going for rebounds. That along with a point guard that can't handle the ball and a shooting guard that can't shoot. Hell of a ride so far this year but I'll keep on watching and rooting for them because I hate myself.
-Idiot

Someone alluded to the Robic switch, but does anyone know why? Was that a Cal "request" or did Robic want to take a step back for family reasons or something? I've been puzzled by it since it happened.

If I’m not mistaken didn’t/doesn’t his daughter have cancer or something? Seemed like it was choice at the time.

Mintz is a willing and decent shooter, but not a really good one as the announcers strive to make you believe every game.

You've got a sample size of 110 high major games, about as big as it gets for a P5 college guard these days, and his career & (UK) % are as follows:

FG: 44% (44%)
3pt: 34% (32%)
FT: 70% (60%)

...and he's still one of our best 2-3 players.

For most shooters, the UK % wouldn't seem quite fair b/c we do absolutely NOTHING to create good looks for them, and they nearly all shoot better elsewhere (whether NBA or their transfer destination) than here - but Mintz has been essentially the same each of his 4 years.

Is Clarke still on the team? Granted I haven’t been following every tweet about this team like usual, but have we had an update on him? Has his name even been uttered by cal over the last few weeks?

Crap like that just adds to the ridiculousness of it all this year.

This, somewhat aggressively, captures my biggest frustration with Calipari. I think he's the greatest recruiter in the history of the game, with the possible exception of John (Sam Gilbert) Wooden. But there seems to be no strategy behind who he recruits beyond 1) do they have the potential for Cal to sit with them in the Green Room on draft night and 2) are their families/coaches/handlers not pains in the ass?

I keep going back to his opening press conference and speech at Big Blue Madness- "given the choice between talent and experience, I choose talent". But it's not talent designed to fit what he wants to do or style he wants to play...because he doesn't have a set style of play. He just wants the best players he can possibly get and he'll figure it out from there, with his priority always being on defense first. And, remarkably, that's worked pretty well for much of his tenure. It's a hell of a tightrope to walk, but he's walked it really well, with a couple of notable exceptions.

But the question he should be asking himself is "why the hell do I do this to myself every year?" And not just in the rhetorical, sarcastic manner with which he poses questions to himself in press conferences. He needs to critically examine if the method he's using to identify and recruit talent here still serves the best interests of his players (which, as much shit as Cal's entitled to, I do believe he genuinely cares about) as well as the program itself. I think about that scene in "Miracle" when Herb Brooks picks his team after the first day of practice. His assistant tells him he's left off some of the best players, and Brooks says "I'm not looking for the best players, I'm looking for the right ones."

IMO, Cal's only legit path forward as a successful head coach at Kentucky is to recognize the shift in the game, especially in the NBA. He needs to be willing to embrace that style of ball, and then structure his roster to get players suited to play that way. If he's selling Kentucky as the path to the NBA, stop recruiting kids who don't have abilities in line with the modern NBA. Don't recruit multiple bigs with limited offensive games and play them together (I'm already terrified of him playing Collins and Oscar together for 30+ mins a game next year). Don't recruit PGs like Hagans (or anyone playing the 1-4 for that matter) who can't shoot or score off the bounce. Don't recruit guys who just look at UK as a temporary way station on their way to the G-league or international ball...get guys who have legit NBA potential, or who are willing to play college ball until that potential is realized. With his ability to sell and his record of guys in the league having a ton of success, it should not be that damn hard. Otherwise, he's basically Blockbuster Video recruiting against Netflix. The end result is inevitable.

- At the end of the day, this team does not have one player who can beat anybody off the bounce. They either need transition, post touches, ball screens, or loose ball kickouts in order to score. We can blame it on spacing, no shooters on the floor, too many bigs, or whatever. But at the end of the day, none of our guys can go by anyone.

As soon as anyone "handchecks" one of our guys, it's over. Ball stops. Others don't even look to drive the ball when they catch it. Allen might be able to ball fake off a quick swing pass and then take 1-2 dribbles, but that's the only way any of these dudes are getting penetration. That's why watching all of those perimeter handoffs and pitch backs are so frustrating. No one gets going down hill. No one gets by anybody!

I think Clarke has that ability but who knows if he will ever see the floor again.

- Anyway(s), on to Cobra Kai. My biggest takeaways:

* There is no other fictional character in pop culture history that has had such a dramatic face turn as Johnny Lawrence. As a kid, I hated him like I was supposed to. He was the perfect blend of handsome, threatening, intimidating, and a-holish. In Cobra Kai, he's freaking awesome. I haven't seen many episodes yet but his character will keep bringing me back. Also, Zabka can act a little bit.

* There is an uncomfortable amount of "I'm late for a wedding" going on by adults and kids. Guess laws are different in The Valley. It's unsettling for a variety of reasons.

* Daniel Larusso should have been bullied and still should be bullied. Whatadouche.

* The teenage drama on the show makes it seem like a group of 50-something year old "dads" are writing the script based on what they imagine teenagers must suffer through today. Totally un-relatable to today's teens. I would imagine the average age of the viewer to be 45.

* Can't wait to get all the way caught up!

- Was really hoping UT would screw up their AD hire by hiring LaMarcus Golden or Steve Hamer, but they actually hired a legit AD in Danny White. Hopefully he brings along Josh Heupel to coach football. Heupel's teams have decreased in wins over the past three seasons. If Tennessee looks past Freeze to hire a guy who just went 6-4 at UCF....*chef's kiss*.

- Best-case Kentucky starting lineup for next season: Skyy Clark, Jaden Hardy, Dontaie Allen, Keion Brooks, Oscar Tshwiebe. More likely Kentucky starting lineup for next season: Jacob Toppin, Lance Ware, Daimion Collins, Oscar Tshwiebe, and Matt Simons.

- A.W. Hamilton is a stud.

- I can't follow many/any of their actual writers on Twitter because, well, WOKE, but man....The Athletic really does kill it with its coverage. Multiple interesting articles every single day.

- I know Goodman is always worth an eyeroll, but he's chastising Kentucky fans who want Cal gone. First, no level-headed Kentucky fans are calling for Cal's FIRING, stupid idiot. And two, he leaves out the fact that the on-court product is only half of it. As usual, all nuance is lost when you report from 25,000 feet instead of having your ear to the ground.

- So the Lions can hire "bite their kneecaps" dude, but Eric Bieniemy wasn't good enough. Got it.

Clarke has been like the son of family friend of Cal who is on the team for GPA purposes.

Great attitude and acts is if he is simply glad to be a part of the team.

Wonder if he knows he is not returning and is just happy he will be getting an advance on his pro contract in April?

Hope I am wrong.
